I attended about half the nursing program at kckcc and I cannot recommend it. There are some good instructors, a handful of them at incredible. Unfortunately, there was also a handful that were absolutely awful. Like, public humiliation, sleeping through presentations, potentially seeking to fail students, awful. There are no textbooks, nor are there in class lectures. It is basically an online course. BUT, you are still expected to attend on campus "group activities". The majority of the time these were elementary level 5 minute presentations where we are assigned an ailment and draw on butcher paper to present to the class. These are also rarely for any credit.instructors are never on the same page for SIMS lab. one will expect one thing and the next will expect something totally different. Skills we are shown how to do briefly, then expect to demonstrate at some later date, and then practiced again. You are basically sent into the field and expected to practice on a live human being (again, if you mess up, with certain instructors, you can expect public humiliation and an announcement to your peers of your mistake).the financial aide department is awful. I had attempted to contact them for WEEKS and the voicemail said that she was out of the office until a date that had passed weeks before. I finally went to the office and met with the same person and let her know. She turned on me like a snake I had stepped on. there are no maps on campus to help you where you need to go within the building. Areas that you need to visit, such as security, financial aide, counseling, etc are all in strange and spread out locations with no direction on how to get to them!I gave it 2 stars because I did have a couple of instructors that I genuinely enjoyed and I DO feel those few are trying their hardest to create nurses with the ridiculous curriculum structure that they are forced to implement. I did learn how to give a great health assessment. But, as a whole, the whole program is harder than it needs to be for silly reasons. It is not the content, it is the way the program is organized. There are other nursing schools. Go to one of them.

One of the many assets of Kansas City Kansas. I have attended this school on a number of occasions and gotten what I have needed. With that said, I'd also like to point out what a great venue it is for exercise. There is a nice walking trail and you can get over two miles in by walking out of the college along the sidewalks north, up College Parkway and then West along Parallel, entering college grounds again. Safe area and the college is well-patrolled by Campus Police. Highly recommend. I walk out here every chance I get and I live 10 miles away.

I go to school here full-time online and everytime i have problems its like noone wants to help. Sometimes its like they get mad at me because they have to do their job. When i moved here, i tried getting KCKCC to change my tuition to be in-state and the lady took over a week to do nothing with my forms, so i ended up coming in and everything she told me was a lie! i hate this school i cant wait till im done going here. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND GOING TO THIS SCHOOL!! The people here are rude, lazy, unwillingly to do THEIR JOBS!, and just out right dumb. If you have the opportunity to go to another school, believe me DO IT!

Completed my CJ associates degree & was told that it would be sent to me in the mail 6 months after graduation. However 6 months later I called and they said that it was on hold for me not completing the "exit exam". To this day they still refuse to send me my degree unless I come back to Kansas to take the exit exam that only includes questions about how the college did in instructing us rather than questions relating to my degree field. I now live out of the state & do not ever plan on coming back to Kansas. Total lack of integrity on the colleges part considering I was never instructed that the exit exam was even necessary. I highly recommend JCCC for anyone in the area, KCKCC is not the "most forward thinking" school by a freaking long shot. They wasted a year and a half of my GI Bill benefits for nothing but wasted work & frustration because I did the work but can't have the degree.

Very unhelpful. I do not recommend even trying to communicate with anyone at this college. There isn't any communication!!
