Simply incredible. Would be a great place to hang out just as a bar. They have tons of cool games to play, including darts and klask. I went here for a corporate event and Jeremy was our instructor. Couldn't say enough good things about him. Truly a gentleman and a lot of fun. This isn't a one time thing, you'll want to come back and bring your friends. Should be a KC main attraction as it is one of a kind as a dedicated curling club. I could honestly just hang out at the bar and not curl. Bottom line you have to go!

I don't care where you live in the Metro, take the time to try out Curling! Make it a friend activity or a date night. If you have family in town who is open to new things, take them. It's a great time!We were invited last minute by another couple, not really sure what to expect on a Saturday night at the Curling Club. On TV curling looks pretty simple---ahh but it's not. We showed up, had to watch a few videos that we hardly paid attention too. The Curling Club member/president guy didn't have the best sense of humor. We finally made it to the ice, we had a different instructor who embraced our endless questions and humor. He took us step by step on how to release the stone, place our feet, sweep, get the stone into the house and how to place defense/offense. We also learned the proper terminology for the members of the team. The cost was around $25 a person and lasted about 2 hours (we were gipped some time). I wish they had a place closer to us, we would have joined a league. (40 min drive one way-OUCH). If you are looking for something different to do in KC, this is it. Dress comfty (try to avoid jeans, you stretch out a lot), wear rubber sole clean shoes and bring a positive open attitude! **Also, bring some water to hydrate, you get pretty thirsty.

I have been curling for about 7 years and I really enjoy this sport. Yes, I know people say that curling is about as exciting as watching the grass grow but they don't understand the game. There is strategy involved and it has been called a game of chess on ice. The club members are very sociable and are always willing to help you learn the finer parts of the game. It is not a game of strength but more of balance and touch. Woman and men are equally matched. (there is no woman's tee like in golf.) The etiquette of the sport is to be respectful of your opponent and enjoy the game. You Never criticize or disparage your opponent. And this sport can be enjoyed by people of all ages starting at about 10 or 11 years old up to the 90's. I competed in a Senior Mens tournament recently in Chicago and two men were in their 90s and still competitive.Check it out.ps: this club used to meet in Overland Park at 135th & Quivira but it has moved to KC, north of the river. We play Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons.
