I absolutely love this facility! It is exactly what it is intended to be: a large, open space, with multiple methods of utilizing that space. It is appointed with lots of Kansas City-oriented touches, displays of Kansas City history, and plenty of areas for relaxation and relief.I love how connected the convention center is to the rest of the accessible downtown area. You can walk to the convention center within two or three minutes from the Power & Light District. It is just a couple blocks removed from the streetcar line. And there is enough parking in and around the convention center area, or the general downtown area, that you can accessibly walk into the space.Perhaps the most understated utility of the space is the fact that there are no large obstacles, columns, or blockages of site lines to the main space. You can easily navigate from one end to the other with a clear view. Even an event like Royals FanFest only utilized half of the available space upstairs! Point is that there is a ton of usable space for this fantastic facility, and millions of visitors come through here every year for trade shows, marketing events, and dozens more.Just look for the four columns as you drive into downtown KC and find your way into Bartle for your event. Take the time to appreciate the simplicity and details all at once in this anchor of downtown KC.

I don't often review convention centers as, well, they don't vary that much and as event attendees we get basically no choice over their selection.I'm reviewing this one because, ceteris paribus, I'd avoid coming to events here because while the convention center is fairly standard in appearance, it's in an urban downtown wasteland that makes the neighborhood particularly not fun / boring. Worse yet, there's only one dab of walking-distance life to be found, the Power and Light District (which is more of a strip) and it affords you zero get-away-from-the-convention break time as it's only purpose seems to be to serve conventioneers and cruisers revving their engines. The center itself was horribly inconvenient; they made all the elevators one-way, so you had to enter in one place, go upstairs, then walk about 1/4 mile to get an escalator back down, and then double back to where you started. Great for your step count; not convenient at all and wholly unnecessary. Food-wise, basically no options save for a little coffee stand, a burrito bowl place, and a pizza place all with very limited (or you could say "focused") menus. Almost nowhere to dine outside (there was one food truck) unless you walk over to the Power and Light district/strip/thing, which still isn't really brimming with options.I even spent 20 minutes desperately searching for what was on both Yelp and Google but turned out to be a "ghost kitchen" (Epic Burgers) for food delivery services only.

I know this may be un-convention-al, but I'm reviewing the convention center. The convention center takes up several blocks of downtown. It's absolutely enormous! I was really impressed by it, and I think that they really put a lot of effort (and money) into trying to have one of the best convention centers in the Midwest and they succeeded.

I enjoy every opportunity I can to visit the Kansas City Convention Center. The staff are always helpful and vibrant and the facilities are always clean.I have had conferences and presentations in almost all parts of this massive Convention Center located in downtown Kansas City and not once have I found this facility dirty or in need of repairs. One downside to the Kansas City Convention Center is there is no Public WiFi. While for the most this isn't an issue because cellular reception will suffice, I find it traditional to either not provide or charge guests for WiFi in this day and age. If you are having a meeting or large scale conference, give the Kansas City Convention Center a chance, there are several hotels and restaurants conveniently located around this facility.

I was here for a sneak Peek of Holiday Mart which is the largest Fundraising event for the Junior League of KC. They expect to have roughly 24,000 shoppers walk through rhthe doors from Thursday Oct 19-22. I never knew how large this space was utilized I had to walk it. Apparently it's about the size of 10 football fields, right in Downtown KC. Perfect for large events!! They do have escalators, plenty of bathrooms, and elevators. Parking is nearby in several garage spaces as well as street parking.

The 2017 american academy of family physicians (AAFP) national conference for medical residents and students brought me here... Facility organization: from the outside, it is a little confusing to figure out (the exterior lobby numbers); from the inside, it is a lot less confusing.Facility rooms: clean, traditional-styles. Whether this is good or not depends on you (since it doesn't have the modern/contemporary appeal)Facility amenities: restrooms were nicely spaced out, nicely upkept. The expo hall was disappointing in terms of the food court/food stands available.Facility staff: nice and friendly service

Big center that attaches to the auditorium. The weekend I was down in KC was for my daughters cheerleading competition. The building seemed to be hosting all kinds of things. However it never seemed over crowded. The facility was very clean and very large. The awards section of my daughters event was held in this area and it was a nice setup.

It serves its purpose. It's a big open space for vendors to try to sell you a bunch of stuff while you walk around looking at it all and sitting in different sessions. It has a walkway connected to the downtown arena where you could have a concert or a general session. It has what you want. It's neither overwhelming or underwhelming.

Volleyball tournament and it was disgusting. Restrooms were dirty, they never picked up the trash, the workers were not helpful. Workers were vaping. Absolutely disappointed.

Not good for wheelchair or disabled. They have all the elevators blocked off except for one in a far corner. There also are many steel bumps all over with no easement to roll a chair over.
