KABABS Pak Mediterranean Cuisine

I was in the area doing some other things and placed a carryout order here on a whim and wow I was really surprised by this gem of a restaurant tucked away in this tiny shopping center.As soon as you enter you notice these gorgeous wood doors that give the space lots of character. Inside of this restaurant is really eye catching, they've done an amazing job at making a comfortable functional space that impresses but doesn't feel so upscale that you that it comes off as snooty dining, more accessible.But enough about the space, had the chicken curry which was cooked beautifully. I say that because the sauce is rich and tasty and the chicken is very clearly not that mass produced Sysco food systems quality but real chicken breast. The ingredient quality was superb, so much so I came back the next day to try another dish. I had a samosa which was really great, very crispy outside a delicious potato and pea inside. I also tried the chicken tikka masala and again the chicken cooked so well, the sauce so rich and full of flavor.This place is a real gem, the service was excellent and very quick. I hope this place succeeds and becomes a stalwart of the West 87th area because it is just such a phenomenal Mediterranean restaurant tucked away quietly in it's shopping center.I will be back sooner than later!

I do not recommend this place and it's unfortunate because I was so excited to try it out.First off the restaurant has Mediterranean in the name and I had select vision and didn't see the "pak Mediterranean" meaning Pakistan food. I am very spoiled with Pakistanian food because that's where my neighbors are from and used to eat at their house often and this place was lacking flavor....lots of it.I ordered the chicken tikka Marsala I understand that it does have a tomato base to it but it was overwhelming, I didn't taste anything else and it lacked chicken, it was more of a soup.The mixed kabab was disappointing. I thought it was going to come out on the stick they also make you CHOOSE between naan or basmati rice...I think both should be given but it's not. The same thing with that chicken tikka marsala dish you had to choose between naan or rice.I ordered the garlic naan because I wanted rice and naan with my meal and the naan was terrible, it didn't even have a garlic flavor and it has a cracker consistency. It wasn't dough-y and fluffy...I was soooo disappointed.As for the service the waitress was polite but she would go missing for a longggggg time. She didn't even fill up our water. It was hard to track her down to pay our bill. And speaking of our bill it was $60 for lunch. WAY TOO OVERPRICED for what we got. I will not be coming back very disappointed!

Positives: clean restaurant with an appealing interior. Food is fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly and attentive.Negatives: we went today for lunch and I wanted to order off of their extensive menu, my husband was at the buffet getting his plate, while he was doing that I was told by our server that I could not order from the menu because the cooks were busy making food for the buffet. I have Celiac and so I knew what I wanted from the menu. So I had to go ahead and just do the buffet also since my husband had already gotten his food. The buffet was $22.50 in the afternoon (the price is not posted in the menu or anywhere we could see) and we both felt that there was not enough offerings of various food to warrant that lunch buffet cost. The food was fresh because they would bring it out when the pan was empty. So when I went to get mine, several main items were gone that my husband had got on his plate. I had to go back and look for them a bit later. While each item we tried (I had little to choose from because of diet) was fresh and good, we both felt they should offer more selections. My main issue is that they should have a sign saying that they don't serve from the menu during the buffet times. We would have left instead of paying over $50 for lunch.

Buffet 5-9 Fridays and also for lunch on other days of the week but check the website to be sure. Lots of unique food for a Midwesterner and they bring fresh bread to your table.

Perfectly fine lunch buffet but quite overpriced for quality/selection. Fair amount of vegetarian selections. Chai comes with buffet if you ask for it. Mix of Indian dishes and Mediterranean offerings like gyros etc. bonus for the full-on butt sprayer in the ladies RR

Kababs was absolutely excellent. Being indian and trying to find a restaurant with authentic tasting Indian food in KC has been somewhat of a challenge at times and I was so happy to find this place recently. The food is absolutely delicious. Truly nothing that I haven't enjoyed but I especially love the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Biryani. For lunch recently, I tried the Paratha Chicken Roll and it was delicious and a great price! This past week we checked out the buffet they offer and it's the best Indian buffet in the KC area hands down! The service was great, very attentive and kind. And the environment is well styled and clean. 10/10! Thanks Kababs KC! Just found my new favorite place for indian food.

One of the most authentic Pakistani cuisine in Mid West. There buffet service is amazing as they provide freshly baked Naan bread and milk tea with food.

My husband and I decided to try out this place out today after reading Yelp reviews. We were happy with the service and the quality of the food. The buffet food was fresh and full of flavor. We will definitely be back!

If you like Indian cuisine then it's ok but if you really have no preference then don't. They play loud music so talking to you partner is difficult. Staff is nice and food was fair.

I'm sorry that it took so long for us to get back here but we loved it every bit as much as before. A wide variety of food including vegetables, kabobs, chicken and wonderfully seasoned. Naan served fresh baked hot from the oven. The sweetest waitress who couldn't be more happy to serve. The food. is a delicious cross between Indian and Middle Eastern.
