I wasn't really a fan, but my husband is southern and he rated it an 8/10-so I'll trust him on the taste ratings.I don't think this place has been updated since they opened, but I guess there's charm in outdated decor that screams gawdy. If you've been inside, then you know what I mean.Service was pretty good, drinks filled at all times and fast service.Free sides come out immediately after being seated. It's hush puppies, coleslaw and white beans. All good! I got the livers and gizzards and the quail and catfish combo. To me, it was all bland, yet so salty. But to my Cajun/southern husband, he said it tasted just like home. You could tell he enjoyed himself immensely. So. I'm glad we found this place, that way he can get his fill of home.

This is a locally owned go to for us. Having been raised eating catfish I was happy to find this gem in a city. The staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is outdoorsman eclectic. (Think 80s bass pro) There are many menu options to choose from, some of which are all you can eat. When seated you are brought out pass arounds of endless white beans, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. Tonight I had the 3 piece catfish with mashed potatoes. My husband had the 2 piece dark meat chicken with mashed potatoes. I ordered hot tea which came out in this cute little teapot. For dessert we had their delicious peach cobbler with icecream. Next time you're in Olathe or Lee's Summit be sure to check them out.

I had not been to this location since pre-Covid, but knew what I was anticipating and it was exactly that. A classic trapped in the early 80's rustic fish lodge feel. I came for the all you can eat snow crab legs and tried not to be distracted by all the side dishes. Though I did eat some ham and beans, coleslaw, and a hush puppy of which all was good. The crab legs were just as expected, better than what I can buy at the store. I certainly ate my share of crab legs, but don't know if I got my $60 worth. I came with two business associates from the East Coast. They ordered the all you can eat crab legs and enjoyed their meals. Our waitress was kind enough to allow one of them to try a catfish filet. He enjoyed the catfish too.Our seasoned waitress was mostly on point... friendly and courteous. I actually am planning on meeting my brother at the Lee's Summit location in the next week or two. We've never been disappointed eating at Jumping Catfish.

We recently moved back to KC, so it had probably been about ten years since we ate here. The food was quite good and the portions were huge. The Wednesday night special is all you can eat popcorn shrimp and they were delicious. The wife had Parmesan crusted broiled catfish and loved it. They bring out bowls of navy beans and Cole slaw as an appetizer. I love their cream cold slaw. They also provide a basket of hush puppies. Come hungry friends

Best catfish we have ever had. Sides are served family style which was nice. Able to try a few things that way. Has the stuffed crab which was something I had never tried and was amazing. We have returned a few other times. Always fast and friendly service. Decor is super cool if you are into stuffed dead creatures.

Food was cold and nasty. Place had flies in November. Was very dusty. Staff were very rude and treated us like a burden. Seated us then moved us bec we didn't have a reservations (website didn't allow us to make a res). They were annoyed we asked for refills after 10 minutes. were annoyed when we asked why hotdog came with bun. Slammed the receipt down on our table. Place was riddled with dust. Po-dunk hillbilly place.
