Great service, I had chicken strips and mashed potatoes and gravy, the rest of the group had catfish filets and potato wedges. They serve hush puppies , Cole slaw, and white beans family style. Any family member we took here from out of town have enjoyed the food. My daughter and husband enjoy the crab legs here. They have several things on the " all you can eat " menu, if you are really hungry. The restaurant is large enough for a big group too.

We were super impressed with Jumpin Catfish Restaurant! My wife loves fried fish, so I wanted to treat her to dinner here. They brought out coleslaw, beans, and hush puppies, before we even ordered our dinner. That was a very nice touch and much appreciated. She had the fried shrimp which she enjoyed a great deal. I had a four protein combo meal , which was also delicious. I probably wouldn't get the quail next time, but the catfish, trout and potatoes were absolutely delicious. There were a lot of people inside, enjoying the catfish and good company. We will be back here for sure!

Comfortable and casual feel with an Ozark, Bass Pro, Cabiny kind of feel. They brought hush puppies, big bowl of ham and beans, and big bowl of coleslaw prior to my order. I ordered the all you can eat catfish and chose the potato wedges as my meal. My first portion was about 5 catfish fillets and 10+ potato wedges. Coleslaw was kind of a KFC style with a sweet flavor the way I like it. The beans and potatoe wedges were great and I didn't need to salt or season them at all. Food was hot and seemed fresh. I have wanted to come here a long time, but my family don't like seafood. I learned they have lots of chicken options from the menu. Plan to definitely come back! I had no room for a 2nd serving and was unable to switch my order to the cheaper cost as they start you off with one more fillet with the all you can eat than what the order would have been. The cheaper one is only four filets. If you're unsure if you'll be able to eat more than first plate, you might order the 4 piece catfish and then upgrade if you decide you want more (only a couple dollars more). Otherwise service was good and food was great!

I love casual catfish places. After hearing advertisements and on the recommendation of a friend, my wife and I gave Jumpin' Catfish In Lee's Summit a try. It was quite disappointing. First of all, the good. Our server, an older gentleman, was exceptional. He was informative, attentive and friendly. My tea glass was never empty. He should be working in a five star restaurant. The food was terribly disappointing. Being a Southerner I have eaten tons of catfish in my life. I ordered the all-you-can-eat meal for $18. The served portions were quite generous. The fish, possibly really sway, was entirely flavorless. There seemed no spice in the breading at all. It was as flat as cardboard. The fish itself seemed stale, like it had been frozen and recycled. Of course, I can't say that is the case, but the texture of the fish was spongy. I added salt and pepper in the hope of giving it some flavor, but it was beyond help. My wife ordered lemon pepper grilled catfish. Again, a generous portion, but the same spongy texture for the fish. Again it seemed frozen. The lemon pepper was only on one side of her filets, like it was just sprinkled on top. Hush puppies were served as an included appetizer. Again, no flavor in the breading and they were cold. I love fried okra. Very few restaurants know how to make Southern fried okra. Since the menu advertised it as southern style okra, I gave it a try despite the cost of $7! Again, a generous portion, but again cold. With true Southern okra, the okra itself is fried crispy with salt and pepper. In most restaurants there is a hunk of fried breading with a piece of okra in the middle. I call that "Yankee okra." That is what I was served at Jumpin' Catfish. I only ate three pieces. The restaurant itself showed wear and tear and was not entirely clean. The men's room was just a step in cleanliness above a truck stop. I really wanted Jumpin' Catfish to be awesome, but it simply wasn't. Those who know true Southern food in all its joys will have to look elsewhere.

We visit Jumping Catfish frequently and always enjoy our food. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow but sometimes I think they are short staffed and their waitstaff is spread thin but we have never had a cold or bad meal. I often love the fried chicken, my husband always loved the all you could eat catfish, crab legs and other items. Our son has always loved the catfish nuggets on the kids menu for years now. We would recommend this to anyone visiting KC and locals. I believe they only have two locations now which are in Olathe and Lee's Summit. We have been to both but live much closer to the LS one so we frequent it a lot more.

The pre-fix beans/slaw/hushpuppies were great. The catfish is cooked to a crispy perfection. The restaurant was a little worn and drab. The service was responsive not friendly as well as the front of restaurant could be friendlier. I'll be back for the food

the food was so-so, everything I had was overcooked. The butterflied shrimp and the oysters were disappointing! and the service was rushed. The slaw, hush puppies, and beans were the best part of the meal.

I just read the review from Samantha S.I could not disagree more. This place is great. Been going there since 1991. I also had the all you can eat crab legs. No wait on three refills, great service, wife had deep fried lobster tails, amazing value. And, the best catfish in town.Try it again Sam.

Pretty good. Recommend. Food is good. The service, for the most part is good. Wait staff is pleasant, and you don't feel rushed.

I like the food but won't go back. 30 minutes to get a second order of crab with the all you can eat. The floor was filthy also. This visit was my first time there.
