J's Fish & Chicken Independence

This review is for the experience I had Monday, August 25th.J's Fish & Chicken was interesting. Their food was really good and super flavorful. Just gonna make this clear though-they are generous with their salt. I feel it's important you consider this and request them to not salt your food beforehand. Other than being overwhelmed with the amount of salty lemon pepper-style seasoning they coat your fried goodies with,  the food was very delicious and well prepared! I ended up trying bone-in wings with shrimp with a side of fries. Their fries were a bit too oily for my personal preference as well, but still flavorful. I just gotta be sure to request No salt dustings next time! ^__^ The batter used on my shrimp came off easier than expected too, which was something I haven't experienced before, so that's perhaps the way they batter them before frying?   I'm not sure.  Again, they were awesome. The seasoning used In their shrimp batter was very good! The only uncomfortable part about being at the restaurant was their unusual waiting lobby. Not only was it Very hot in there but you could Barely hear the individual taking your order behind that large protective sheet of plastic/glass?   They really had to make you yell and repeat yourself unfortunately. That was one of two issues I had with the entire experience.   Other than remembering to request no salt dustings and remembering how loud  I gotta be when taking my order,  I do look forward to trying more of their products in the future.

Fish nuggets are great. Fried chicken is great. Will be going back. Sometimes it is hard to understand their English. Other than that great food.

So good. I had the chicken and shrimp combo and I made sure to get every last bit off the bones. There is a nice subtle kick to the seasoning that is delicious dry and then with the sauce they give you it is perfection.

Not super great but not bad either. Had ordered the chicken sandwich combo and the chicken itself was great but they have some sort of cheese sauce on it but it's flavorless with a hint of jalapeño. It's the same sauce they use for their mac n cheese. All of the chairs in the dining area were put up but if you wanted to use them you could. The man who took our order was nice, just wish it didn't take over 10 minutes to receive the food itself. May go back. And try their fish another time.

I had to change my rating after my last visit. I ordered 43 wings and some fried mushrooms. The wings were smaller than KFC if you ca imagine! The mushrooms had more to them then the wings. Don't know if I will be back, to expensive for what you get. Service was good

I ordered catfish filet but instead got talapia or whiting. the bad part is that once I took a bite it tasted spoiled, so I smelled & it was definitely spoiled. Even if the order wasn't spoiled the filet was so thin you got more crust than anything.. I really feel like the health department needs to pay a visit because I am not the first one who's experienced spoiled food.

food is good some of the staff is very rude and defenetly need people skills just that really turns off some customers other than that nothing
