A smaller library that is bright and welcoming. It was recently remodeled. Many areas to sit and study with lots of natural light.

Cedar Roe Library is a cozy, friendly neighborhood library (a Johnson County branch), nestled in Roeland Park. Unlike some larger, newer libraries, it has managed to retain a community vibe. This library's greatest asset? The employees! Their passion for reading and dedication to their library are evident when they assist their patrons. They are very knowledgeable and always ready to help you find that perfect book or the right information.Cedar Roe Library is always very clean, and they have an excellent children's section. Children's programs are offered regularly, and I am looking forward to taking my child to Storytime.Overall, I would definitely recommend this library to anyone living near the Roeland Park/Mission area.

Still love my Cedar Roe Library, but the new hours blow. Closed all day on Friday and Sunday, Wednesday at 5:00, and Saturday at 2:00. It's a small, cozy place with a great selection and helpful staff. The staff and volunteers seem genuinely surprised when you offer to pay your library fines; it's only $.15 a day! Love that you can reserve a book, CD, DVD, or other media online, have it transferred to Cedar Roe and then pick it up when you get the email that it's ready. The self-checkout is convenient for running in and out too. If you want to use a computer, reserve it online in advance. Almost every time I go in after work or weekends, all of the computers are taken. There's even a book about this great little library, Four Ordinary Women: A Meeting at the Cedar Roe Library. Saw it at Stuff in Brookside for $25 but had to check it out from here!

I love that my best library experience comes from the library right in my own hood. It's very warm and cozy feeling from the minute you open the door. The staff is all nice and eager to help! The children section is excellent. They have a theme based learning area for the children to play hands on with good education toys and learning tools that is constantly changing. My 3 year old LOVES going to the library for this very reason. Once there he is all about the entire experience. He loves to pick out books and complete the check out himself which they cater to.The adult section is also quite extensive and of course it's part of the Johnson County Library system so any media that isn't in can be transfered in for check out.

This is the library of my youth, and over the decades it has become an endearment to me. It has the perfect blend of hospitality, location, usefulness, and comfort. It has an appeal to all ages that belies it's unassuming exterior. Over time, I have seen many a business come and go around it, yet it endures with a purpose and a following unlike other branches. Is it perfect? Well, no. Like the parking and the new hours previously mentioned, it has it's inconveniences. But overall, it's what a small town public library NEEDS to be!And therefore, it's perfect for me...

The employees at this library are great unlike the large Johnson county library. The only downside is this is a smaller library so the book selection is not as large and the parking isn't great. But I would still rather go to this library because of the employees alone.
