Johnny's Tavern

The service at this location was great and the Wednesday night special of chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy was awesome for a bar.

We went to Johnny's have they had a perfect pizza special. We got an 18-in thin crust pie. The outer crust was thick and baked to perfection, But the rest of it was just a sloppy soggy mess and you literally had to roll the pizza up into a burrito form to eat it. Since it was a pretty significant discount we didn't feel comfortable sending it back, but we'll definitely never go back to this location. The only upside was the place wasn't very crowded and the staff was nice.

A decent sports bar that's a chill place to relax and watch a game. They have lots of TVs all over the place and the tables are set up pretty well for viewing. The hosts were kind, and the waitress was nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the food falls a bit flat. I got the Wilson's wings with fries and they weren't bad, but they are a bit expensive for six wings and fries. The barbecue chicken pizza was pretty dry and did not have a whole lot of flavor or texture. The other meals seemed about on par with these ones. Still a fun environment to catch up with some friends, just don't expect the greatest food.

Food is ok, specials are ok, price is not bad, place is very clean and the patio is spacious and nice. Would be a good spot to go with a group.Where I would rate this place less than ok was our waitress. Specifically this dyed red hair young lady. She exhibits an unpleasant attitude, never refilled our drinks, just walked by and gave a thumbs up. Back when I waited tables you made sure your patrons were engaged with and kept their drinks refilled. When we had her as a host, you walked in and we always had to engage with the staff first, rarely ever greeted. As I observed the other patrons coming in it appeared to me they had the same type of experience and expectations that I did.I normally don't point out things like this but this has been a consistent experience. If I were the manager/operator/owner I would most definitely look at appointing someone as a host who is welcoming, thanks you for being a patron and visiting their business.

The food was great but the service was terrible. Overall, this was a neat spot. Lots of TVs with all the college football someone could want.

I've been coming here off and on for more than 13 years, first because it was close to my office at the time, and later as a local resident. The service and food has always been absolutely solid with great specials, especially the Chef's Tuesday Mexican special which always draws a crowd. Pizza is New York style and really great, burgers are always terrific. The chef's special on Friday is usually a home-run too. I grew up in central KS in a town of 4,000 people, and this is as much of a local bar as you can get - if you even visit occasionally, the staff knows your name and you know theirs; over time you'll meet a ton of patrons that call this place home.

We recently moved nearby. We loved Johnnys when we lived in KC previously. Food is very good here and service is friendly. I have had burger's previously but did a fiesta bowl salad this time. It was very good and the portion was large. They have nightly specials hereOn food and drink. Very popular spot for the locals and for watching sports

If I was Dave Portnoy I'd give this a 2.0 - undercooked pizza. More grease than a middle schooler on the bus ride home
