Johnnie's Sports Bar

My favorite pub in Wyandotte County. Johnnie's is a sports bar that embraces all sports and is a mecca for NFL, MLB, NCAA, MLS, European league soccer.... but I love Johnnie's for its unique decor with thousands of christmas lights and stuff to look at on every wall and the ceiling too. Cheap prices, nice folks behind the bar and a welcoming and diverse clientele. That's a big win for me!

I went to Johnnie's for an evening out. First, it's INSIDE the movie theatre so the whole place smells like popcorn. I sat on the bar side close to the sounds stage. I had a training server but didn't get service from her or her trainer for five minutes. Finally got some water 10 minutes later and then my glass of wine another 10 minutes. I ordered the charcuterie plate, it came plentiful and tasted good. Wine selection was also decent. Overall, I won't be back just because I don't like that it's open to the movie theater but it's a good place for a first date.

If you are looking for the quintessential "hole-in-the-wall" bare, look no further! I cannot say enough about the people, bartenders and just the general vibe of this place! A truly hidden gem! Spent Friday afternoon here from out of town and can I just say, a true neighborhood haunt loved everything about this place! Cheap drinks,great music and the best KCK has to offer people-wise! Will ALWAYS come here when in KC!

Wowzer!I was surprised with the up scale of this place! This is not your average place, it's classy without having the price of it! We ordered the salmon with rice and broccoli. It was cooked to perfection with a nice crisp on the outside but flakey inside. I ordered a spinach dip pizza, yeah you read that right! It was so good. So creamy with a thin crust. Tasty! We also ordered a chicken sandwich and some fries. The fries were the crispy homemade ones that are so crunchy on the outside but fluffy on the inside dear lord!!

Supremely impressive dive bar. Walked in and they had soccer on and a great beer selection. Boulevard drafts were $3 on a Saturday night. Love the atmosphere, relaxed, not even trying to seem casual. Just being casual. Dangerously good times could be had here.

Johnnie's On 7th is an awesome little KCK dive. I like to think of it as the equivalent to Midtown's News Room or Chez Charlies but without the panhandlers and crackheads wandering in. They have your standard working man's beers (Bud, Bud Light, Coors, etc) and a decent selection of others. There are tons of liquors to choose from and the staff is amazing. Owner Chris and often-bartender Ryan are hilarious and keep the patrons happy.I like coming here on Tuesday nights when Ryan slings the dranks and when you can sometimes catch KC's most talented honky tonk and 'billy performers hanging out, playing smokin' solo sets, and knocking back well whiskey shots.Yes, there is free popcorn, and yes it was most likely popped yesterday. So what. You're not too good for it. Have some drinks, stare at the tv, listen to some Hank tunes, make new friends.P.S. They do take credit cards but paying cash is the way to do it at a dive.

Suckin down cold ones at Johnnie's might be my new favorite activity. Great staff and a solid selection of beers made my experience great. If only my girlfriend didn't beat my a** in darts I would have had the BEST experience. Can't wait to go back (without her, HA).

If Ernest Hemmingest, Jack Kerouac, and Charles Bukowski walked into a bar, that bar would probably be Johnnie's.
