Jess Hansen Golf Academy

Went in to do my first lesson with Jess Hansen. He asked what my game is like and I said "I am very confident 150yards in, but anything more than a 7iron I have no confidence or feel." He then proceeded to give me an hour lesson using only my 9iron and dissecting my setup, grip, posture and form.In that lesson, he criticized my shoes, my glove, my clubs and my attitude. I am happy to be challenged, but golf is so mental that I left feeling worse about my game. 2 days later I played the single worst round of my life because I was so in my head about all the things Jess criticized me for.My biggest problem is that Jess tried to sell me new equipment multiple times in our hour lesson. New glove, new shoes, custom fitted clubs.I'm sure Jess is a nice guy, but I'm going to be spending the next month trying to undo the damage he brought to my game in an hour.
