Old school St Joseph charm, great service and really good food, what more can you ask for...? We started with deep fried pickles that were very well seasoned and I had the "black and blue steak wrap" (Cajun flavored steak with blue cheese) with onion rings. All the food was just great. Definitely a place you gotta when you're in town.

Four stars only because I'll likely only eat there once. We were traveling in our RV and happened upon the town and luckily this spot! Those nachos were phenomenal! Def not something I'd normally order but so glad I did! My husband's meal was good as well. Great outdoor patio seating. Recommend this one!

Not great, not horrible. Just a run down place with decent foodI'm all for local and ambiance, but this place is a bit run down. I'm definately not a germaphobe, but was worried someone in our group might get sick from eating here. We had a large group and were sat upstairs. It was smoking hot and the bathroom next to the table ( and I mean RIGHT next to) was dirty and smelled. Food was marginal but acceptable. Service decent. Just not a place we will go back to.

Bartender Ernie knows the menu and is very personable. If it were only for him I would return to Jakes.He recommended the pork chop and against my better judgement I ordered it. I usually only eat pork when my wife makes it but this chop was out of this world. Juicy, flavorful and cooked just right. A hint of jalapeño without the heat. What a flavor!Juke box available also.I just happened to be in the area the next day and had the pork chop again and it was every bit as good. Consistency is important.
