I recently embarked on an impromptu road trip with my dog from St. Louis to Kansas City. I decided to find the perfect park where my furry friend could stretch his legs and indulge in his favorite frisbee game without disrupting other visitors. To my delight, I stumbled upon an absolute gem of a park! From the moment I entered, I was captivated by the park's expansive layout and pristine beauty, lovingly maintained by dedicated staff. I spread my picnic blanket under the shade of a grand oak tree, savoring delicious snacks while my pup joyfully frolicked nearby. The serene atmosphere provided the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable afternoon.I was pleasantly surprised to see many fellow dog parents enjoying the park. Many dogs were well-trained and responded beautifully to their owners, a testament to the wonderful community of pet lovers here. Since I spent time training my dog to have excellent recall, letting him roam off-leash in designated areas was a joy. There's something so freeing about watching your dog play while you relax and soak in the natural beauty around you. This park truly stands out as a hidden treasure in Kansas City. If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle or want to enjoy a stroll surrounded by nature, I wholeheartedly recommend this spot. Whether enjoying a picnic or letting your dog run wild, it's a place where memories are made and joy is found!

Jacob Loose Memorial Park is one of my favorite spots to take visitors in Kansas City, and they are always in awe of its beauty! This park truly feels like the 'Central Park' of Kansas City, with its stunning landscaping and serene atmosphere.I once hosted a picnic here, and my friends loved it so much that they started hosting their own gatherings! I've enjoyed countless friend date walks through this park, which always inspire the most thoughtful conversations. It's no surprise that many have chosen to get married here; the setting is simply magical.I even hosted a sound bath in the park, and it went surprisingly well! There's always a sense of peace, calm, and oneness with nature when you're here. If you're looking for a beautiful place to relax or connect with friends, Jacob Loose Memorial Park is the perfect choice!

Loose park is always a safe go to option for walking or running. I only run the putter portions because this can be a tougher place to run if you're a newbie. You can also walk a bit with a kiddo and then hang out at the park.

Loose Park is one of the jewels of Kansas City! It's a beautiful place to walk as the sun is setting, when long shadows and sunlight streak the gorgeous green lawns. Myriad flowers and trees will be blooming soon; the cherry and dogwood have already begun. Next come the trees with berries the birds love. You're serenaded by raucous, merry chirping as you walk past them. The azalea bushes will become a profusion of pink and lavender, and the heavenly scent of lilacs will fill the air. Colorful stalks of Iris and tulips will sprout up in the gardens. Later, the Rose Garden will explode a riot of colors and fragrance! These are all jewels along the paths, highlighting the stretches of lush green lawn in this park!Unfortunately, Loose Park is not being maintained very well, and if we're not careful, the sparkle and shine of this jewelry-box-of-a park will be gone. The once beautiful Lake has become polluted and desperately needs to be cleaned out, so there won't be more dead fish floating in it in the coming months. Most of the trees drastically need trimming and shaping before more branches are broken or dragging on the ground, or overloaded trunks are split by weather and lightning. The public restrooms have been a complete disgrace for years, and the few port-a-potties provided, but not tended, are not a good solution.Put in a call or a text or an email to the city officials and the parks department! Let them know we, the people, care about preserving this once-glorious gift from the Jacob Loose family!

It was such a beautiful day to walk around Loose Park. 80 degrees, sun shining but wind blowing generously to keep you cool. After a few laps around, we couldn't help but stop to admire the water, and the ducks effortlessly floating by. There were lots of people out waking their dogs, flying kites with the kids, and simply just laying out on their blankets and hammocks, enjoying our break of the cold weather. I would definitely recommend catching one of these beautiful days at Loose. Stop to enjoy the beautiful trees, the calmness of the water, the different paths to walk through the park, and the fellowship of other people enjoying it as well.

I'm an avid walker and loose park is practically in my backyard. So 2.9 miles there and back-Well this jont helps me achieve my goal of 6 miles. While I can't get it in as often that I'd like. The walk there and around the parks built in track (2). Clears my mind and gives me that sense of accomplishment.

I was in from out of town and didn't have much time to explore the city. In an earlier conversation with a local, she advised that I check out Loose Park. I was so very grateful that I had the opportunity to do so. It really was the only thing I did apart from a couple of shows during a very short visit. The squirrels, the birds, the ducks, the grass, all of it. There were concrete tables and benches to sit at and large grassy knowles to lay in.... it was just what my system needed. Plenty of people walking their dogs, taking strolls in the park, nice inclines on some of the paths. Yes, grateful that there are parks such as this one to visit.

Loose Park is one of those iconic Kansas City landmarks that really deserves the accolades it receives. Back in my twenties, when I lived closer, I would come here to run the perimeter of the park and always enjoyed not only the vast size of this park, but the gorgeous landscaping, the people watching, and the history of the place. I returned recently with my family for an outing one sunny Kansas City morning and had fun chasing my toddler around, showing her the ducks and the fountains, and eventually letting her play for a while on the nearby playground. It's the perfect place for a picnic, or an evening stroll. I'm sure we will be back before the end of summer!

Fully gated splash pad, the location is little hidden but it's right behind the tennis court. There isn't any grills near so no cook out. But plenty of sun light, lots of seating areas and shade. Perfect for smaller age groups. It's handicap assisseble as well.
