Jack Stack Barbecue - Martin City

I have visited this place 2-3 times in last 6 years. Food & service hasn't changed one bit. This place was almost full this afternoon. Had no issues in finding a table. They also do have a weekday lunch specials. I tried their Kansas City combo (2) today. Love their burnt ends so ordered Beef burnt ends & smoked sausage. Their barbecue sauce is yummmmmm! Has plenty of parking spots & the ambience is cool after the remodeling. They'll probably open the patio for spring/summer.

Always love coming here! We ordered some food to go to take to our hotel after an 8 hour road trip. We ordered the KC Combo 3 meat dinner with brisket, pulled pork and pork burnt ends. All of the meats were AMAZING! They had an amazing Smokey flavor and lots of seasoning flavor as well. The brisket melted in your mouth. We ordered a side of cole slaw, potato salad and a loaded baked potato. Also all AMAZING! My boyfriend ate every last bit of the Cole slaw. The loaded baked potato came with butter, cheese, bacon and sour cream. The potato salad was a tad on the sweet side which I personally love! The total came to $50 which does not seem bad in my opinion for how much we ordered and how much food it was! I hope we can come back some day!

The food was good. The ambience is more cafeteria style than cozy upscale restaurant. Vinyl booths, weird half-glass dividers, just not commiserate with the price point.

I've never been to Jack Stack before and my mother wanted to take me as she had gift cards. Upon arriving the smell of wonderful BBQ hits you before you reach the doors. The inside of the restaurant was nice (but the tables were a bit close together). I ordered the hickory chicken breast with asparagus, and it was amazing! The chicken was moist and delicious, and the asparagus was grilled. For dessert I had their brownie which came with chocolate ice cream. While it was okay-the carrot cake my mother ordered was far superior. The staff there were very attentive, fast, and efficient. As this was my first time I was impressed. If I'm ever craving BBQ-I'll be sure to head back over to this restaurant!

Food: 9/10 and yes I'm bias because Memphis has the BEST barbecue but KC is def a close second. This food was delicious!!! The wings were seasoned so well and grilled perfectly! The broccoli was my absolute favorite and cooked soft but not mushy with a slight crunch just how I like it. The drinks were good also. We all enjoyed our food and the portions were more than enough!Service: 10/10 our server was from New Mexico and she was a breath of fresh air. She gave us great recommendations to order and new the menu well. She came over to check on us multiple times (we were seated outside which we chose the weather was great compared to texas)! Ambiance: Again, we choose to sit outside and it was still very clean and nice. There were also umbrellas/shields from the sun but the weather was great compared to 107 degrees in texas. We enjoyed ourselves!!

Very sad to report that after eating Jack Stack for 35+ years, I can no longer hold it at the king spot. This location has not been the same since the remodel. Very inconsistent now, with a floor so low that I actually threw away one of my burnt ends, didn't finish my beans or cheesy corn on last visit.I reached out to JS as a way to see if they cared, to keep me from walking away for a long while. HQ said they fwd my message to the location, but nobody reached out. I see this as a red flag that there's no reason to believe a plan is in place to turn the place around. I hope to come back, but it's going to take hearing through grapevine that it's corrected the issues.

An absolute staple when it comes to Kansas City barbecue. All of the food is amazing. As good as the meats are, Jackstack consistently delivers with the best sides in town. The interior provides a refined Midwestern restaurant, and the staff clearly loves their customers and their meals. We often get takeout or cater from here if lots of people are in town. They almost always get the orders perfectly correct and everyone loves them. If you're around and looking for authentic KC barbecue, this is a must try.

We got lucky that it was a slow day for lunch and there were open tables out on the patio. As we arrived the hostess saw that 2 of us had mobility problems, and she shuffled us onto the patio quickly and let us choose our table. Our server Bri came right over, took our drink orders and came back quickly with drinks to get our food order. The food came out quickly and was really good, as usual. In one of her many trips to refill our drinks she overheard me say that the BE were dry and soon the kitchen manager brought out very fresh hot ones. This is definitely my new go-to location for JS as Metcalf is always packed. And special recognition goes to Bri - she's a fantastic server- friendly but not pushy, and attentive but not overbearing. Ask for her when you go.

I've been coming here since I was 6 and it is as good as ever. I now life far away, but came through town with my sons and they were as Happy as I was. Keep it up.

After spending $134 for dinner for 2, a server vaccuumed our aisle for 10 minutes at 9;10 and was very rude also.Why is this not happening after closing?I feel rushed and disgusted. Who wants to have dinner being vacuumed?I'll find another restaurant Jack Stack.You have been a favorite for many years. Not so much anymore.
