It's a Beautiful Day

I have been coming here since I was in high school. I recently got into records and have never really thought of this place as being a record store but now it's a must when thrifting vinyl. I came around a $10 Fleetwood Mac record and haven't snatched something up so fast before. I absolutely love how friendly the staff is and all the funky and beautiful art, clothing and gifts this place has. It's a one stop shop on a Saturday for me.

You could be in this store for a while and still not see everything. We loved checked out the old records in the back music room. Did you know that it's a beautiful day offers repair to the newer stereo rack? I've bought a record player and had them fix my cd player. These guys are genuinely nice people who love to help the community. I always enjoy going there for a visit. Lots of fun Records & tshirts to look at.

First when I walked in, I was surprised with how many different products they have to offer. It's a cute nice shop. What I like the most would be the record room in the back with all the vinyl records. If you are a big fan of vinyl records, the might be a place where you can find something cool. Parking is really convenient. You can park next to the door, and usually there should be enough space for parking. -Right now they encourage customers to still wear mask when visiting the store, so if you have your own mask, bring it.

A special and one-of-a-kind shop my family has been shopping at for a long time. I love it here and would recommend to anyone looking for cool decor/ clothing you can't find other places.

My love of music runs deep and Eric at It's A Beautiful Day exceeded every expectation I preset. I attended a jazz listening event about a month ago which allowed me to meet a radio broadcast host. He suggested I go to IABD as I mentioned I wanted to start a vinyl record collection. He even told me to ask for Eric.So glad I did because Eric found my all-in-one vinyl record system including speakers for less than $100! Not only did he take 30 minutes out of his schedule to teach me basic upkeep and history on vinyls, but he did it with a smile. Very genuine and absolutely customer service oriented. This is the owner of the store guys. His partner, a very nice woman, initially helped me but had to run out. Both of them are an amazing duo. I even got 5 free cassette tapes (no longer sold), brush cleaning set, (3) 33s and a 45 because we made a real connection and he wanted to help me out. I'm so glad that we met. The speakers sound professional and high quality, my Donny Hathaway album almost put me to tears and I cannot wait to go back for another round of 45s. You need to at least drop by!

Right when you walk in, it smells like like free love! One of my favorite stores in KC! If you have any sort of free spirit in you, this is the place to be!I love coming here for hemp jewelry, cool bags, and dashikis. They have SO many stellar items here. They carry items from Gypsy Rose, which is a catalog I really love. I've found cool stickers here, toe rings, you name it! Love it, love it, love it. Embrace your inner hippie and stop in if you have the chance!

i've gone to this store twice already and loved my experience there both times! I went there to get a gift for my mom because she is a big dead head, and they had so many unique and cool things there. i even found quite a bit of stuff i loved too, even if you aren't a dead head you can still love this store! I would recommend this store to anyone because of how most of the things there you won't find anywhere else. They also support many small businesses! and as my mom said "it smells like a deadhead shop"
