Irvzilla’s Hawaiian Grill

We checked out this food truck when visiting downtown KC. I absolutely love Hawaiian food and was excited to try. However, I feel like I was, unfortunately, disappointed. I ordered a small Huli chicken which came with a scoop of rice and dill Mac salad. I had originally asked if they had options to sub for rice for any kind of vegetable/salad or something if they had available (which I totally understand when places can't but thought I'd ask). The staff member gave me a weird look and was honestly a bit rude/short in response. So I kindly responded that is okay and will still get the plate as is.It only took a few minutes for the food to come out, but it came out warm and not super hot. I, unfortunately, just felt like the chicken was lacking good flavor and was not a fan of the dill mac salad. The rice was decent but not hot. I had my boyfriend try everything as well and he also was not a fan of the plate. I'm glad we got to try it out, but, unfortunately, will probably not get again. Some of their other food might be better, but just didn't necessarily love my experience here.

I had the orange chicken.....more like chicken fingers cut up with some store bought orange sauce with mushy rice. The egg rolls and crab Rangoon were ok. I would definitely not go back. The workers were super nice and the service was fast, which is why I gave them an extra star.

I saw this truck at the KC Lawn Party at the Nelson and had been wanting to try it for awhile. I got the combo plate with the fried chicken and fried shrimp and a crab Rangoon. Everything was delicious, the shrimp and Katsu were crunchy but perfectly cooked in the jnsudesauce was perfect for the meats and rice, and the macaroni salad was different than the other places around here, with a little more flavor.

We started scarfing down our food before I thought of taking a picture if that tells you how good it is! We tried Irvzilla's outside of the Pride festivities and I'm thankful we stopped. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the macaroni salad is incredible, friend meatballs were amazing, and the owners are super sweet. The plate we ordered was enough to feed four of us and still have leftovers. I can't wait to find them again.

Really excited for this food truck. However severely disappointed. I got the appetizer Plater. The rice was too gooey. My shrimp was cold. And the rolls that were advertised were so much bigger than what I got. Also for 13 dollars you'd expect to get a drink however not the case.
