We stayed 3 nights. Breakfasts were 5 star events. The first breakfast we ate in the dining room under the beautiful chandelier with other guests. We all became fast friends! The people who stay at Inn at 425 appreciate the beauty of the turn of the century decorations and they love Kansas City. Great conversation! Our stay at 425 was a special time of our trip which we valued as equal to any of the attractions of KC. It was to converse and get to know Stephan and Carl, the owners. Here are the details:- This is a fine location that is close to attractions of KC: WWI Museum, Truman Library and Steamboat Arabia exhibit were our favorites.- Taking Lyft to dinner is quick and easy. (We enjoyed Q29 BBQ.)- The details I appreciated: coddled eggs served in beautiful coddlers, quality cutlery being placed perfectly (knife side in!), tasteful placement of antiques that give the room warmth and character.- Clean! I mused the bathroom floor was clean enough to eat off of... but I did not.- Attentive service! I brought back a six pack of ale and put into the cooler. At that time, there were only wine glasses standing by, but in the morning, Weizen glasses appeared in the collection.- I can't say enough of the quality! The food was real! Thick slices of real ham, fresh fruit; and even the capers were high end. There is a lot to see and do in KC. Sofie and I look forward to returning to the Inn at 425 to see our new friends Stephen and Carl! Maybe we will take a day and just sit out in the garden at 425. It's that kind of place!

If I could give Inn At 425 10 stars I would! Carl and Stephan have created a true jewel of a bed and breakfast in the heart of Kansas City's historic district. Ten of us recently rented out the whole Inn for a Junior High School reunion. Carl and Stephan worked hard to make sure everything was just right for us. Every detail was perfect - the ornately welcoming Victorian home was an elegant, but homey place for us to come together, each of the rooms was sparklingly clean and perfectly decorated and the breakfasts were amazing. The Inn At 425 was such a fabulous venue for our get together, I can hardly wait to bring my husband back for a romantic weekend. Carl and Stephan, you ROCK!!!With Love,Beth and the Girls

My wife and I stayed at the Inn at 425 for one night, but it was a night that we will NOT soon forget! Since the moment we walked through the beautiful iron gate they had in front, it was nothing but exceptional from the service to the atmosphere. The moment we met Stephen, the owner of the B&b, I could feel the dedication he put into making the house and its guests feel welcome and hospitable. He was very knowledgeable about the house and its history (Which he should be, considering how him and his partner did a lot and most of the work on the place)Our room, the Rose room, was both elegant and very comfortable! Everything was very clean and the claw-foot tub was to die for! (Or so my wife says) Stephen was very helpful in making sure we could unapack and access our room easily. The breakfast (which was hands-down my favorite) was phenomenal! Stephen made my wife and I coddled eggs and homemade, savory biscuits with fresh fruit! Not to mention, the set-up was perfect! Everything felt calm and relaxed and we were able to enjoy our breakfast to the fullest!Honestly, I cant speak more highly of this establishment! Our whole experience was amazing and we will DEFINITELY have to be back!

My husband and I just spent an amazing weekend here! The Inn keepers are the most wonderful, friendly and helpful. The room with the View was very comfortable, very clean and had some fun furniture. You have to visit this place! Breakfast was delicious and fresh. You will be well taken care of and get the best dinner advice. We will be back.

I would have to say this is one of my favorite places I have stayed. To put that into perspective I've been to 48 states, and 15 countries. Needless to say I have done a lot of traveling and have stayed at a plethora of places. You can spend hours talking to Carl and Stephan about the history of this place and everything they have done. Whether you are on a "staycation," needing a place for family members to stay in while they are in the KC area or traveling don't think twice and just book your room now. My wife and I went for a great morning walk and then came back to a fabulous homemade breakfast. We then spent several hours outside in their garden area. If I could give 6 stars on Yelp I would have reserved it for this place!

We found this place based off of its good reviews and had a wonderful time. We were greeted outside and shown around by Stephan, one of the owners, and had a wonderful time taking with him. They have put so much hard work into the beautiful home and you can see how proud they are of it. They have done a fabulous job restoring the house to its original beauty. The rooms all have such great personal touches to them and we loved our "room with a view". We took their recommendation to visit The Northend for dinner and it was just as good as they said it would be. We returned to our room to turn down service and some yummy cookies. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and so inviting. Great job Gary! We have defiantly found a gem in Kansas City and can't wait to visit again.

Wonderful place for a romantic retreat! Carl and Stephan were the most gracious hosts. I had some requests for the evening and for the morning breakfast for a very special occasion, and they were more than accommodating. The rooms were fantastic, and the house is beautiful. The gardens are the real secret, very well put together and a great place to relax and have a romantic evening. I can't recommend this enough!

My family stayed here for my sister's wedding. Everything was beyond perfect! The owners were kind and attentive. The attention to detail was beyond impeccable. My sister and her attendants dressed for the wedding here, and this inn was a perfect backdrop for these photos. She and the groom also had their special first look meeting in the gorgeous hydrangea garden. We felt welcomed and part of the family, and our memories there are priceless. We've already started planning another family trip back there for the first anniversary. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The weekend was absolutely perfect, and we look forward to returning!

I had a most enjoyable two night stay in February. The Inn has been beautifully restored. Stephan was a warm and gracious host providing the history of the house and the area. A number of books about this historic area are available to browse if you wish to know more. Breakfasts were delicious! I stayed in Emeline's Room which includes a spacious bathroom and I was quite comfortable. Would definitely stay at the Inn again when in the area.

My husband and I spent a weekend here while we were in town for a Royals game. It was easy to get around the various places we visited in the city by car. We're so glad we found this place! The hosts were wonderful and gave great recommendations. Our room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast was delicious. It was such a lovely experience staying in a beautiful historic home!
