Amazing. There's a reason that there is a stampede of humans here on the weekends. Ibis is a tour-de-force, rock the house, 7th wonder of the baking world. Whether it's the breads, or the avocado toast, or the myriad pastries, from croissants, to the kouign Ammann, Ibis simply crushes every form of baking with ridiculous excellence. Lot parking can get pretty full. Service is excellent, especially graceful under pressure, considering how busy they are. Destination breakfast and bakery. Do make your way here.

There is almost always a line to order and if you're wanting to hangout and eat there it can be sometimes be difficult to find a seat, but it is completely worth. I have been going here for years and unlike other places their service and quality of food is always top notch. The ham and cheese croissant and the goat cheese bearclaw are my favorites.

After falling in love with kouign-amann on a dream trip to France, I was on a mission to find them in the Kansas City area. Although Ibis Bakery's kouign-amann are a different shape than the ones we had in Normandy where they originate from, they tastes very much like the crispy, sugary, caramelized treats we had in France. The best part is that Ibis Bakery is located about 10 minutes from my home! Danger!

Yum!!These folks are LEGIT magicians. They must work with real magic wands or something. It was so fun to watch them work too. I could probably have sat there for an hour. What's a girl got to do to work there??Incredible technique + expert knowledge + great ingredients = a good product every time.

A very good family friend brought an Ibis Bakery cheese slipper to dinner a few months ago and it was totally worth going off f our gluten free regimen! Fast forward a few months and I stopped by with a friend who was determined to try the cheese slipper after hearing me describe it. She said 1) it's so big that it's more like a bag than a slipper and 2) that I'm no longer allowed to tell her about things like this because it is her new obsession.

Oh, the croissants that come out of this place!! Light, buttery and PERFECTION for anytime of the day. The focaccia is so rich with herbs, and don't even ask about the brioche!! Spectacular offerings at our neighborhood coffee shop! (Black Dog)

Ibis Bakery are chemistry maestros. Technically sound, bread baking extraordinaires like Walter White (Breaking Bread?).I haven't met too many baked goods that I didn't enjoy, but it's safe for me to say that Ibis Bakery is the top spot in town. I've tried:-Their pizzas when they used to do a special pizza night, five-stars.-Their cheese slippers, in my opinion, are one of the best things you can find in all of KC. (Note these are seasonal, usually one day a week and I don't know if they're currently doing this during Covid-19)- All the croissants and breads, five-stars.-Orange brioche from their stand at the OP Farmers' Market, perfect for French ToastThey just nail everything, and you can tell the quality from the first bite. I do wish there was a consistent way to get some of the things I mentioned.. It's always a bit of a scavenger hunt to try to find out when they're offering things like pizzas and cheese slippers, so that would be my one bit of unsolicited advice to them. Otherwise, it's all just epic and you need to go out of your way to come here, visit their Crossroads Messenger location, or find them at the summer Overland Park Farmers' Market!

Ibis bakery products are absolutely great, however Messenger Coffee at the airport is doing a great disservice to this great bread. I go through KC airport several times a year and on two separate trips I picked up a coffee and an almond croissant. In both instances the croissant was at minimum a day old. The croissants were definitely old, the crusts were stale and hard (not crunchy hard), the filling soaked the middle portion of the croissant. Left a horrible taste in my mouth to the point that I had to throw it away. .

The bakery downtown is so busy and difficult to get parking. But the one on 87th is really much easier to go to and parkThis is also very busy - which says something!! I love their breads. So good! Cranberry walnut and multigrain are both excellent choices. It's a bit on the expensive side but good things don't come cheap. I would rather spend ten bucks on an amazing loaf of bread than buy cheaper options elsewhere. Their coffee is good and service is fairly decent. Definitely try it. I love it.
