No manager!!Reminder to the "higher ups" at HyVee:When the Chiefs are on, EVERY TV in your grill area should be on that game. Paying customers should not need to plead to have stations changed from game shows and infomercials to watch the team that your corporation pays enormous sponsorship fees to endorse. Your stores charge $95 for Chiefs gear (hoodies), but your C-list weekend staff can't be bothered to change the channel.Attention to upper management: time for retraining of staffers about the importance of customer service!!!!! And a reminder of where their paychecks come from...

I definitely have mixed feelings about this and I think it just depends on which Hy-Vee you decide to go to. The one off of 64th St. and I 29 has a wonderful selection of food however on the day that I went the Chinese food that I had gotten was cold, I let the lady that was working and she did not offer to give me anything else which was really disappointing considering the money that I had spent. Normally I get their pizza and it is delicious and so good definitely will continue to try different things Hy-Vee market Grille!

My family and I went in for lunch. Who doesn't want to try a restaurant IN a grocery store. The food was surprisingly good and the beer was cold. What more can you ask for? The food did take quite a while to come out, but we weren't in a rush. The price was awesome! Our family of 5 ate for less than $60 (including adult beverages).

My wife and I have enjoyed dinner here at this Hy-Vee Market Grill, but this was our first breakfast. They offered veterans a free buffet breakfast on November 12, so we took advantage of this gift. At first, i was expecting something very simple, but it turned out to be a feast! Though it was buffet style, the chafing dishes were overflowing with really high quality food:Not just potatoes, but fancy au gratinNot just bacon, but Hormel Black LabelNot just sausage, but bangersNot just donuts, but real pastries Not just fruit and yogurt, but parfaitsThey did a great job to make us feel special and appreciated. They had a table of honor to remember those who did not return. They gave out special coupons to use in he store. They also had other businesses and organizations there giving away gifts to vets - the Community America Credit Union gave us a commemorative one dollar coin (imagine that, a free sample from a bank). This is our favorite grocery store, and now it is our favorite restaurant. Thanks for serving those who served!

Still disappointing. While they offer full service and casual dining options, the menu has gone downhill for selections and the service is subpar. The need to go back to the original concept and not the crap now.As for food..chicken sandwich was just average, can get the same for less cost at Wendy's across the street. There is nothing on the menu to set them apart other than expensive prices.

Hadn't been to a market grill yet and wasn't sure I wanted to since was just wanting a healthy breakfast like toast and coffee. The place is very nice and service was great. I had the fit breakfast which was 2 egg whites scrambled with turkey sausage patties and a bowl of fruit. I added in a side of wheat toast so I could make a breakfast toaster. Everything was very good and the fruit was very fresh. My wife dined with me and our bill was like $16 before tip. Definitely will try it for dinner now.

We've visited twice now. We're newly a family of three and sometimes getting out is getting out-take that for what it's worth but we tried out HMG with no expectations whatsoever. I mean it's in a grocery store...but we were pleasantly surprised! They do an excellent job of separating the restaurant from the store-you do not feel like you're in the grocery store. The lighting, fixtures and furnishings are all nice. There are TV's all over the restaurant, not just in the full bar. The first time we tried it happened to be Steak Night in early December. On a Saturday night you can get a $10 generous sirloin and baked potato. We had the crab dip appetizer (which was huge) and side salads. We were also brought these huge honey rolls that are fantastic! Some of the wait staff is very young, but they were extremely attentive and very nice. We were greeted and sat by host staff both times. They asked us if we'd prefer a table or booth and we we asked for a table they offered a sling and sat us at an end where we had plenty of room. I had a glass of wine brought out by the bartender (assuming the waitress was too young)-we had zero issues. We were also thanked when we were leaving. I honestly can't tell you what the other reviewers were talking about. Maybe they complained and the problem was resolved, or there were kinks being worked out as any new place does...Our second visit fell on "buy one burger get one half off" night-so I tried the California Burger and my husband had the brisket burger. WE COULD NOT PICK THEM UP. They were knife and fork HUGE for $15 total. I had sweet potato fries and he had the handcut french fries. Everything again was great, generously portioned and arrived in a timely fashion. The restaurant smelled amazing and I noticed several people had the crab legs (1lb of King Crab legs for $20-are you kidding?!) We have plans to go back for those and try the Sunday brunch.

I was excited to see that they had a gluten free burger bun, as I had been diagnosed as gluten intolerant within the last year. I love the burger and a beer deal, but EVERY SINGLE TIME I go there, they tell me they are out of cider. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.I can't drink beer, and they offer a gluten free burger bun, so why wouldn't they ensure that they also have a gluten free drink on hand?IF they sell cider so much that they are constantly out, why would they not order more?I complained online a while back and nothing changed, so finally, after several times going there and being disappointed I'm done. The burgers seem to have slowly lost flavor over time either way- so I guess I'm not losing out. I think that is part of what made me mad- when I first started going there it seemed to have better quality control and the food had more flavor, particularly the actual hamburger itself. I don't recommend going there unless you're just drinking something other than a cider and watching a game- the food is OK at best. You won't see me there- too many chances given. I won't go back.

Well I've been dragged back here. It not as bad as I remember. However, still awfully slow service. There are 4 servers and about 15 tables. Why is that hard? It took over 5 mins to get a drink order done and then another 5 to get them back to the table. I'd understand this more if there were some genuine rush of people coming into the restaurant but it's a slow and steady stream of people. The food took well over 15 mins to be made. It was a simple breakfast order of egg whites and bacon and sausage. I'm at a loss of words for how unorganized flustered the staff is in general here.Laughter is all I can muster at this moment because it's embarrassing to come here. All the servers seem to gather and cluster and at the expo window and chit chat while waiting for food instead of walking the floor and taking care of guests. I've complained of this place to the store director to no avail. Huge Giant Eye Roll!
