The Hotel Kansas City is under the Hyatt umbrella, our favorite large hotel company. This is a very unique building built in 1920 for the Kansas City Club, a men's club. The location is fantastic if you are going to an event at the T-Mobile Center or the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. It's also right next to the Kansas City Power and Light area, which has multiple restaurants and bars.I've stayed here three times. The first time we had a loft, a two-story room that was unbelievable with a two-story window with a great view of downtown KC. The other two times were normal hotel rooms.HKC gives you four bath towels, so many hotels give you 3, sometimes even just two. The design of the rooms is unique. They look more like how you would like your house to look. The bathroom is very nice with attractive quartz, and the painting is unique with some walls being black and some white. The walls also have something like crown molding going through them and even across the ceiling in spots. It really is neat! The toilet in the bathroom is separated from the shower with its own door. The one bad thing is the water pressure was very low in the bathroom. The beds are very comfortable with four pillows for each queen bed. The central air conditioning was fantastic and so much quieter than hotels that have a separate unit in each room. The bar on the lobby floor is great! We have yet to visit the live music venue, but we have heard it from a distance and it sounds great! This is now our favorite Kansas City Hotel and it is where we stay no matter what part of town we are going to be visiting.

If you claim the name Hotel Kansas City, you're putting yourself out there as being one of the best. IMO, that's absolutely the case here as this is a beautiful, well-run hotel from the top down. Recently did a little staycation here because it's like a theme-park resort for adults; a fancy basement cocktail bar, a nice lobby and hotel bar, and a top-rated restaurant anchoring it all down. We never felt the need to get off the hotel grounds. Valet was friendly, and everything flowed nice and easily* (we'll come back to that), especially compared to some recent hotel stays I've experienced. The room has a beautiful, modern interior that also leans on the classic 1920's feel of the building. It's classy and comfortable all at once. The bed was super comfortable, and while we didn't get a view out our window, you're bound to when facing certain directions. If you're from out of town, it's nice to be so close to P&L and other walkable, vibrant areas downtown. One addition that I really appreciated was their nice coffee bar down in the lobby. They made some great drip coffee, and my wife loved her latte. It's like a real coffeeshop which again makes things so easy in the morning. The only drawback? I never got the receipt that was to be sent my way, and then noticed a sizable bill on my credit card. They had accidentally double charged me for the room, and I had to reach out to multiple people and provide quite a bit of effort to keep the conversation going. I really don't like having to deal with stuff like that as it drags out, but fortunately they were able to get it refunded a week or two later. All in all, a great spot and one I'd recommend to friends who visit out of town when they want to see KC show off a little.

I was in Kansas City for two nights for a conference that was held at Hotel Kansas City. I was really blown away and pleasantly surprised by the hotel from the second I walked in the door! The hotel is stunning, with tons of interesting art, impressive architecture, and an amazing history. The building was the home of the Kansas City Club from 1882 until 2002. The City Club was a social club, and the building featured meeting rooms, a gym, restaurants, a bowling alley, handball courts, and hotel rooms. (Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower were members!) The Club moved in 2002, and the building was temporarily used as a combination of events spaces and condos until it was sold and renovated to become Hotel Kansas City. The hotel opened in 2020, and you can see all the work and thought that went into its renovations. The lobby is stunning and full of eye catching modern art. My room was also fantastic (large, luxe, full of style, and extremely comfortable), as were the spaces we used for the conference (including the gorgeous, jaw-dropping Tudor Ballroom)! The customer service at the check in desk and valet were great. (The hotel lobby has a restaurant and cocktail bar, but neither are open on Monday or Tuesday, so I wasn't able to take advantage of them sadly!) Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. If I ever get the chance to return to Kansas City, I'd be thrilled to stay here again.

Truly have nothing bad to say about Hotel Kansas City! I stayed here for 2 nights for a work trip; what an amazing hotel to stay at! I wish I could've stayed here for even longer (lol). Upon arrival, you are greeted by valet. They were so good about holding the door open for you every time. Once inside, the employee at the front desk was beyond sweet when checking in. It was also super easy to check in and out after my stay. The lobby took me aback - there's a HUGE beautiful chandelier / light fixture above, with a classy old school-vibe bar. This hotel has a lot of office space, venue space, etc., so it's used for more things than just being a hotel. There's also a little cafe located on the lobby floor, too.The whole hotel was a vibe - historic, yet up-to-date and trendy. I absolutely loved my hotel room. The bed was HUGE and comfy, the bathroom was gorgeous, and the room was clean. It had a little nook, too, which I thought was different and cute. It had a TV, a closet, 2 night stands, and was more than spacious. The location of the hotel was smack dab in the heart of downtown Kansas City which was the perfect location. This hotel has a lot to offer and I had the most comfortable stay here to say the least. If ever back in Kansas City, I'd love to stay here again!

I was really excited to stay here during May 2023 as the hotel looked historic and beautiful...which it is. Conveniently located in downtown Kansas City made it easy keep our car parked at the hotel while using the KC Streetcar. Rooms are large in size, but being an older hotel, some of the spaces are awkward. Here's why I would not stay here again. There is no porte cochère and although there is paid valet parking, it's curbside with no ramp or bellhop service. We had to carry our suitcases up a the stairs to the lobby. No assistance was offered.Fast forward to October 2023, we get charged by the rental car service $118.25 for a parking violation while our car was parked at Hotel Kansas City. We paid for daily valet parking, yet we noticed a number of the guest vehicles were parked in red or no parking zones. Valet service said they gave an "arrangement" with who, idk. On this particular day, we were celebrating a special occasion. Our vehicle supposedly should have been in the paid valet parking lot. It irks me that the hotel allowed guests to get parking tickets and still charged us for parking! We suspect the valet tossed the ticket. Shame on Hotel Kansas City!P.S. Monica, thank you for the welcome note, but would appreciate a reimbursement for the parking ticket from your valet service parking our vehicle in a no parking zone!

This historic hotel has lots of charm and the personnel is friendly and attentive. Our stay was brief and pleasant with a great evening at the bar. However, the bed and pillows are horrible. Uncomfortable, thin and artificial filling that crackles. It ruined our night.

Every time I or my friends have come in they do not disappoint on how they make their cocktails. If you're staying in Downtown KC or live down here I highly recommend checking out this place! The staff is very knowledgeable on different kinds of cocktails, do be prepared to spend about $16-$19.00 on a single cocktail. You're getting great quality for that price. 10/10 very clean, calm environment.

Stayed at the Hotel Kansas City for our Anniversary. We were married here and had our wedding reception on the roof, so we loved coming back to reminisce and celebrate. Management really made us feel special with a hand written letter welcoming us back and a complimentary bottle of champagne that me and the wife thoroughly enjoyed. The building has tons of unique architectural and design features that make it one of a kind. The bed was so comfy it was hard getting up in the morning. Super convenient and close to everything downtown with great views of PnL. The Valet Parking was a bit expensive but we parked in the Barney Allis Plaza Garage which was just 1 block away which was only $15 and didn't have to wait for the valet to pull our vehicle around. There was an amazing restaurant on the first floor and lounge with live music in the basement. The Hotel Kansas City is not a cookie cutter hotel and if you want a really unique and special experience I'd stay here.
