Homestead Greenhouse

Nice nursery very helpful staff. Bought 3 plants, 2 are fantastic one was loaded with bugs. Didn't notice them just noticed the plant wasn't well from about the 3rd day. Skip the hanging baskets in the wicker we got the pointed one and it's awful, it's been sprayed now so we hope to save it.

Their plants are beautiful and healthy. The gift shop has so many cute and adorable items for anyone who gardens, enjoys birds or nature. I could spend a day looking at all the lovely items and plants they have. There is also an assortment of nice birdbaths outside. Plants are not cheap, but they put a lot of time and care into providing quality offerings. If you are looking for something unique, they probably have it!

A very nice local greenhouse with helpful staff members. Always makes me happy to shop locally. The quality of their plants is terrific and they stand by what they sell.

Cute little nursery in Leavenworth. They have great prices and knowledgeable staff. Their plants always look good and last versus the larger chain stores (HD, Lowe's).

Been coming here for several years because they have the best plants. These folks are a notch above everyone including much larger operations in KC.

Porn for gardeners. A person can neander from one beautiful area to the next, like going from room to room. I like to start at the front of the store. Not IN the store-the front area with beauiful prepotted containers. There are pots for those who want the beauty but not the work of planting containers. From there, its counter-clockwise for me. The covered pergola area is my favorite for the shaded plants of all kinds. Then there is an area primarily for shrubs of any and every kind. You want something that looks like its been there awhile? They have big ones as well as young cheaper varieties. Roam over to the perennial area and you will get a little lost unless you know something about gardening here. My second favorite as I get older, they come back every year so I don't have to plant as much! You can find just about any herb on the planet I'm sure. Keep going around to te rear...it begins to look like someones garden from here. There is even some garden art, planting combinations you can try at home. LOVE it!There is a small shed that fits right in (their maintenance tool shed I'm sure). Keep going and yes...there are water plants for your small water feature! Don't have one but this makes me want one everytime I'm here. OK on through to the real greenhouse area that has everything from flowers to veggies for your garden. I can roam for an hour in this area alone. Now, almost full circle we visit the area that has beautiful containers and other garden art-then on INTO the store. The store carries tools and other 'hardware' for gardening, but also lots of fun items like birdhouses, chimes, feeders and pretty little garden art 'gems' that will make your garden sparkle!

If you want a housewarming gift for someone they offer great potted plants, If you are improving the landscape, you will regret every moment you went somewhere else. They know their stuff, have great selection and the location isn't far from town. Don't chance getting diseased plants elsewhere, do your yard right with healthy plants and grow some serenity with their help.

I would give Homestead 10 stars if I could!! I'm a bit new to gardening veggies/fruits and I cannot tell you how glad I am that this was the first place I came to. On different days I had to women that helped with my question and it was like I was talking to new friends! The owner, Christy (sp?) is out and about on the property helping with questions as well. The plants are beautiful and healthy with affordable prices. There is so much variety I have to force myself not to go there every day! Soooo, today I have almost finished planting everything I bought as well as my seedlings and now as sit here writing this I am thinking about taking a 5 minute trip back there to see what else I can spend all my money on! :) I love it! If you haven't stopped in to see what they've got, do yourself a favor and do it. I owe them a strawberry dessert and I cannot wait for that day I can bring it and show off all the strawberries I harvested from their plants!
