I'm not a sushi gal, but something about this baked lobster roll got me questioning that statement. It was SO yummy!! I think the baked fish on top made it less "sushi" tasting for me than i'd it would've been if it was raw fish. I wish I got more; I ate it so fast. My friend got the taro milk tea and I also thought it was tasty, tasted like cereal milk. The service was good- the lady working even directed us towards free miso soup. The place was cute inside and out. We ate outside under some cute lights fixtures.

Horrible service. Ordered DoorDash and the order was supposed to take 40 minutes to deliver. Understandable. An hour elapsed. New delivery time is 2 hours from the order time. Called dasher. No response. Tried finding the number for this store, no number listed on google. Found their "number" on yelp. It went to an unserviced number. No way to resolve this and DoorDash charged me for the whole order. Will never order from this location again. With the type of experience, it may have spoiled my trust in this chain and probably won't order from their ward parkway store either.

I love poke and was excited to see hokibar open up a location near me. I visited on a Saturday night. Ordering is straightforward on the kiosk. I noticed the restaurant was very clean and well maintained. The service was good and my order was delivered promptly.I decided on ordering one of the signature bowls, the Kansas City Bowl. Everything in the bowl tasted fresh, and I thought it was a nice combination of flavors. It is a little on the pricier end, but I left satisfied with the amount of food in the bowl. Perfect amount for me to leave satisfied but not too full. One thing I would've liked would've been more sauce in the bowl. It has mango salsa listed for the Kansas City Bowl. It seemed a little dry to me. I'll probably tweak my order a bit next time.I also ordered a Thai bubble tea. Unfortunately, after I already ordered I was noticed they were out of boba. I was offered other options and picked the rainbow jellies. I was not a fan of those and you really get a lot of them! I still finished the tea and thought the tea options paired nicely with the bowl. I plan on adding hokibar to my regular rotation of takeout spots!

I loved the great variety of healthy cooked and raw proteins, bases, toppings and sauces available at this new restaurant, which offers poke bowls (signature and custom) and sushi. I also enjoyed the first-rate service. My regular (6" x 2.5") two protein custom poke bowl ($13.99) was built to order at the counter. The ordering process was very customer friendly, with good labeling of the various options at each stage (bases, sauces, proteins and toppings). The salmon bowl popped with flavor from the many fresh ingredients. I also liked the complimentary miso soup.I was impressed with the great selection of proteins including salmon, octopus, ahi tuna, shrimp, scallops, beef tataki and Spam. I also liked the great selection of healthy bases and toppings including brown rice, kale, spinach, Spring mix, seaweed, cucumbers, chickpeas, takuan, tamagoyaki, mango salsa, ginger, etc. I only noticed two items with an upcharge (eel and avocado). All but 13 items were gluten-free and clearly marked as such.I found the service to be polite, cheerful and efficient, while the dining area was clean, basic and nice with upbeat contemporary background music. I also noticed a patio.I hope they offer a loyalty program and discount offers. Also, bigger protein scoops would be nice.Overall, excellent!

GO HERE!! I absolutely love Poke, when I lived in California it consumed the majority of my diet. I was so happy to hear that a Poke place opened in Overland Park since it seemed like the majority of them closed prior to my moving to Kansas (2021). This place is fantastic. I wouldn't change a single thing about what I ordered. When I read their background on the website it said they trained at Japanese and Hawaiian restaurants on the West Coast. They also offer sushi and boba at an affordable price. When you walk in there are kiosks to order from (yay! Introvert me), and then you enter a table number and seat yourself. We were the only ones here at the time, so we were served quickly. It is a great looking place with about 10 tables, pretty quiet. I did ask what Hoki rice was, she said it was coconut rice made with green tea. The bowl I ordered had white rice.

Food: we got the Kansas City Bowl and Lobster Roll. They were good but on the pricier side ($13.99 for the bowl & $17.99 for the roll). The bowl and roll were mostly rice and I wish it had more if the fish. Service: self-order kiosk used since we didn't make our own bowl.Ambiance: clean and spacious. Located in the shopping center right off Metcalf.

Good place. Order yourself is pretty easy. Service was fairly fast. Had the musubi and an Alaskan roll. Both were good and priced well. Would come back and try the poke bowl.
