Hicks Hometown Drive-In

4 minutes off the highway if you're traveling and looking for a treat. Drive-in with car hops and limited seating inside. Clean bathrooms accessible outside. Ice cream was good. Hubby said they were a little light on the malt in his hot fudge malt, but overall, it was worth the 4 min drive.

Mixed feelings. First as a out of town visitor from texas..please remove the "south of the border" as nothing on there is actual mexican food and thus not from south of the border. Very north of the border. so far north we in texas wont even call it Tex-mex. In texas you get arrested for such silliness. Now the "spicy" chicken sandwich was not spicy. not even slightly spicy. Also should never have to chew on a chicken sandwich the way you do a bad steak. Id drink my sweet tea but there was another faux pas...CLEAN YOUR TEA DISPENSER DAILY!and add sugar when warm. taste test. was so bitter and stout it gives dry mouth after a sip. thats only achieved through not cleaning and the tannin build up. Which can cause upset stomach, headaches and more. The chicken was super dry if that wasnt made clear. SEASON YOUR FRIES! Dont ever stick a large bottle of iodized salt on a table..salt the fries when they comeout of the oil or the salt doesnt stick anyway. they are bland and disgusting. no excuse for failing at french fries. Jr burger with just cheese is very good. So there is that i guess. I cant lie. it was really good. and so tender and juicy you probably could gum it without having teeth and be ok. good quality burger meat. The coconut creme pudding shake was just what you would think if you wanted a coconut cream pie in a cup. very tasty. Little too much shredded coconut but overall the flavors were spot on. This place could use a good clean inside. You could reenact Tom Cruise in risky business by sliding on the floor its so greasy. and you wouldnt need socks. just your regular non slip shoes. Menus are not clean. so you have to touch dirty menus then touch your food. idk why they have boxes of random merchandise like kiddie cars and headphones inside. sort of weird but small town maybe its a donation spot? really unclear on that but its weird to walk into a restaurant and see random stuff thats not related to the business. you can see whole kitchen. that isnt necessarily a good thing mind you. Went back for shakes to try and Girl who came to our car needed a little more practice at math for giving change but on that i sympathize as math isnt my strongest subject. Overall this place needs a lot of work but i still recommend people try for themselves.

In my original review I said there were no ice cream treats. The restaurant followed-up with a note to say I missed that menu, which is on the passenger side of the car.

Great little hometown burger joint. Best sweet tea I've had in the north so far. Burgers are fresh bacon is real. Onion rings are fresh and crispy

As usual when I'm in Chillicothe and need to grab a bite, I drove by all the national chains to get to Hicks. Why? First, because it's a local establishment, and I try to buy local when I can, especially in small towns.Second, I really wanted a tenderloin sandwich. And MAN do they have a great one! Not so huge that you can't manage it, but definitely larger than you expect. And the tots? Phenomenal.All that would be great by itself...but the carhops who work there always come out with a smile, a great attitude, and they make you feel like they WANT you there (and that they want to be there, too!). Of course, now that they're masked because of Covid, you have to see the smiles in their eyes, and my server tonight certainly had them.Food? Excellent. Service? Excellent. Speed? Excellent. There's no reason to go to the national places, when Hometown Drive-In consistently knocks it out of the park. This is my fifth or sixth visit, and I'll definitely be back!!

I placed an order for 6 people. The car hoop or waiter looked inside my vehicle and said I don't see 6 people in here. I kind of thought to myself what does it matter if I ordered for one person or twenty people.So I guess I'll talk about the food the fries were nothing special crinkle cut that you buy for $2 from Walmart.The smoke burger which they charged way to much for. Plain hamburger with bbq sauce wow go all out why don't you. The rest of my group didn't think their food was all that great. Wished I'd gone to subway instead.So Hicks home town drive in. I give you a big thumbs down.For the overpriced sandwiches between $7 to a little over $10 dollars.That's not including the cheap fries or the small medium so called drinks.

Stopped here cruising through town. I hate dissing local joints like this but the food was not that great and kind of expensive. Got the chili fries, those were ok. I will say when none of the kids like the french fries, that sums it up. Put some salt on those things. My chicken sandwich was again, ok, but small as hell on an oversized bun. The buns are good. Kudos on the vendor choice. My wife's burger was grey and bland. Dude, I could go on but...why? Id be interested to see or hear what people normally get. The young lady who brought our food was very nice.

Highly suggest limeades (all flavors)! We ordered the chicken wraps, cheeseburger and chicken sandwich with tots... all were great! We will be coming back. Great customer service!!

Ok average for fast food was not empress burger was thin and dry fries were ok delivery was fast but it was ok

Hicks couldn't even take the time out to put the ice cream in side another cup! Also got a banana split that was all melted
