Unfortunately I was very unimpressed with the service and the prices. There weren't many people there when we walked in and only about 2 people in line in front of us. It took close to 10 minutes for those people to be served and not once did the person at the counter even acknowledge our existence. My biggest pet peeve is a lack of social niceties. Obviously I don't expect them to drop everything and serve us instead, but a simple "hello" or "I'll be with you in just a few minutes" goes a long way in creating a nice environment.Because we were ignored for so long, we gave up on even trying to sample or buy anything. We left without a treat at all, which I was honestly considering doing from the moment I saw the prices on the menu board. $8 for a milkshake?! Is this just how much milkshakes cost now?!Also! They had a bunch of random cutesy stuff for sale, most of it bought from shops like Homegoods or 5 Below and then overpriced to look boutique. I'm really not a fan of that. Overall, 2 stars. It's a super cute place and I imagine other people have probably had much better experiences than I have. Your results may vary!

Nothing says summer like ice cream and nothing says sweetness like candy, so why not combine the two? That's just what Hey Sugar has done in the historic Strawberry Hill neighborhood in the farthest reaches of KCK.You can't miss this spot unless you close your eyes while driving. It's a lovely pink building that quite proudly displays the Hey Sugar logo with just the right colors added. Once inside, you have quite literally a taste for *any* candy palate, from sweet to sour to chocolate to taffy. If you're over a certain age, many of these candies will generate some nostalgia while others will offer flavor profiles you can't find just anywhere. I love retro anything and the options for sweets from my youth are easy to find, except now I'm not spending all my lawn-mowing money. Think Pop Rocks & Bottle Caps mixed amongst Skittles & Sweet-Tarts and that's what you'll find in Hey Sugar's candy aisle. But hey, you want ice cream? Who doesn't? Hey Sugar offers up nearly two dozen flavors of small-batch ice cream by the scoop. Samples can be had (you should sample the strawberry cheesecake) or mixed with sodas for a float. Hey Sugar's friendly folks are happy to make suggestions, even taking requests on potential candy options if there is supply & demand. I didn't even mention that Hey Sugar offers up candy & soda options that cater to different culture, like Latin American or Asian candy or making an Italian soda from a number of flavors.Small biz is alive and wonderful in KC and Hey Sugar is making a great run at being a Strawberry Hill mainstay. Parking is on the street or in the neighborhood and you are within walking distance of several other spots. But don't miss the sweets!

Visited during the very busy Third Friday festival but this little shop delivered! They had a continuous line forming for their aquas frescas, ice cream and snow cones but they had efficient and friendly workers to get everyone thru, even those sampling flavors! They had pepino (cucumber) aquas frescas which is so hard to find! All flavors tasted authentic and very yummy. We didn't try the ice cream but they had some cool flavors like fried corn. Their candy shop selection looked robust, including vintage and international selections. I would highly recommend visiting this shop! I'll be back for the aquas frescas.

This super cute ice cream and candy shop is located in the Strawberry Hill community of KCK. Open since last summer it's been a hit with its vibrant colors and sweet treats. Offering ice cream, milkshakes, floats, shaved ice, Italian soda and agua frescas. Some of the ice cream dished up is even locally made. I will also say as a Mom on a budget this was pocket book friendly. Loved the locally made birthday cake flavor. Kids loved the vanilla flavor crazy colors. Friendly staff of offering samples and suggestions. Charming patio and indoor seating.

A sweet addition to one of my favorite neighborhoods in the metro - Strawberry Hill. The shop on Sixth St. is impossible to miss with it's bright pink facade screaming "Pick Me, Pick Me". The interior is just as bright, alluring and delightfully centered around a giant camel "mural" that is created out of partially removed covering of a brick wall. Brilliant!I enjoyed a cantaloupe agua frescas and a scoop of salted caramel ice cream and some packaged treats to take home. They are offering about 20+ ice cream flavors, Italian sodas, shaved ice and several fresh made agua frescas. The wall of packaged sweets and candies contain a large selection of old school favorites and international offerings. The infectious friendliness of the lady behind the counter made me wish I lived in the neighborhood so I could return every other day or so. A great little shop that hopefully evolves into a wider selection of in-house made candies / desserts ...

I saw this place on Instagram and since I love the strawberry hill area, I had to go over. I specifies fed the freeze dried skittles but they were sold out. We had ice cream. Try the corn ice cream. It's like a vanilla but sweeter. It will be my go to ice cream. I plan to get two scoops next time, but one scoop will be the double fudge which taste great as well. I spent $47 worth of candy and ice cream and it was all worth it. Other than the freeze dried the candy was your typical. I would like to see more variety in the candy. We sat down, as there is ample seating, and we relaxed until closing time. An easy to clean game would be nice for each table. We will be back on
