There's a reason we keep coming back for brunch every few weeks- a truly unique menu made with notably fresh ingredients. They serve an array of sweet and savory dishes that have roots in Midwest flavors with international foundations which makes for a really fun tasting experience. This isn't the run of the mill brunch menu that can easily be found at other restaurants. Everything we've tried from the pickle chicken bacon ranch salad (all the best savory Midwest flavors in one) to the ricotta toast, BEC sandwich and waldo bowl were culinary delights. Their baked goods like the brown butter blueberry cake might be some of our favorite breakfast pastries in the city. Pair it one of their seasonal coffee drinks like the peppermint latte. The other amazing part of this place is the ambiance and decor. It's Midwest hygge at its finest and really completes the whole experience. Highly recommend you make this your next brunch destination!

Perfect day-time eatery or brunch spot on the weekend. They have both a kitchen menu as well as pre-made items you can take for home. We came here for brunch and I had the county breakfast which is their take on a classic breakfast platter served with eggs any style, potatoes, bacon and their special gravy which was so tasty! I added toast with butter and jam, would've been nice if it came with meal, but oh well. Nice selection from menu without feeling overwhelming. They also offer cooking classes which I think would be fun to try. Final review: 4/5 stars

Decided to give Hemma Hemma a try for the first time, following a friend's recommendation. We ordered the Smothered Burrito (substituted the Chorizo with an Egg) to make it a vegetarian dish. We also got the Katsu Chicken Egg Curry Bowl, a Cinnamon Roll for dessert, and an Iced Matcha Latte. Based upon my experience today:Food: 4/5 Delicious, but the burrito salsa was slightly salty.Atmosphere: 4/5Cozy, warm, and naturally lit. Ideal for casual gatherings or grab-and-go. I was unsure of the aesthetics or what they were going for, but it was still cute. Service: 2.5/5Both of my orders required specific requests, which I did ask first if that was okay to do and I was told yes. However, I felt rushed as I was ordering. There was also a misunderstanding about my order. I was told I would get the refund for it but I have not received it. Matcha: 4/5I love matcha so for Hemma Hemma's matcha, I would say it was almost perfect until it was not sweetened. I wasn't informed if sweetener was included. Nonetheless, their matcha latte was really matcha green and not just MILK!

Hemma Hemma offers breakfast and lunch is a fast casual environment. I visited on a busy Saturday, immediately waited in line to order and then waited around to try to grab a spot to sit. It can be tough to find a table when it is a busy day. It would be beneficial for the resturant to spilt up some of the tables as there are a lot of larger tables as opposed to smaller two person tops. We ordered the breakfast burrito, chicken sandwich and cinnamon roll. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the cinnamon roll.

This is a charming multi-room and multi concept venture in north Waldo. Some will flock here for a grab and go pre-packaged meal on the run, others for their coffee bar and others for their culinary classes, but I just came in for the Sunday brunch menu. The name is Hemma Hemma but my biscuits and gravy were Hubba Hubba! A fresh buttermilk biscuit with a sausage gravy sounds pretty basic, but the creamy gravy immediately gave me multiple flashbacks of past dishes with subtle hints of curry and paprika in the rich creamy goodness. A home run! This is an easy 5 stars for being such a cool and comfortable environment that meets so many different needs. Very eager to return for more of their options.

Didn't know this place even existed but loved discovering it. Popped in here for mid afternoon lunch/brunch on a Sunday afternoon with 4 ladies while we were out shopping. You order at the counter and then find a seat. It was pretty packed but we had no problem finding. I had the herby chicken salad wrap with fries. It was so yummy! Everyone was very happy with their meals. Will definitely be back if I'm in the neighborhood.

This place is aces. I honestly didn't know what to expect -- quite literally, because I wasn't sure if it was all grab & go, or if they offered actual hot meals (spoiler alert: they do), so I was glad to try it out and get the lay of the land. For starters, the whole place is a vibe. Great aesthetic, welcoming staff, and lots to look through. You most definitely can go here for a meal! Sure there's some nice grab & go options and even a coffee bar, but those are in addition to the restaurant, not just stand alone. Their staff will guide you through if you're a first timer, but if you're there to eat: head towards the right, grab a tray, and you'll see all the tasty options available that day.We tried a farro salad that was delicious, and a chicken caesar wrap that was equally delicious. My wife had a matcha tea drink that she loved and would go back for. Oh and we had to try a cookie and went out of left field with the "tahini cookie" which, you guessed it, was delicious. There's nothing not to like here, it's a great addition to the neighborhood and fits in well IMO. Can't wait to ride bikes down the Trolley Trail with my girls and have them try it out soon!
