I've never had a problem with this place. The building itself is beautiful, they have a wide variety of I items including pottery and plants. The workers are always very helpful and nice. I'm a collector of succulents/ cacti and they always surprise me with what they have there. And that's saying a lot, considering I have nearly 200 kinds of succulents/ cacti. I can't speak for the price of any of the other plants/ pottery, but I've found the succulents/cacti are always reasonable in price. I wouldn't say pricey.

Very pricy and they do not stand behind the health of their plants. We bought quite a few smaller plants and within a week over half were dead. I bought them back and was told it's my problem. I wanted to support local but when Home Depot or Lowe's charges half the price and will replace if something goes wrong I rather go to them.

Heartland Nursery was one of the premiere nursery in Kansas City but it had gone significantly downhill in last few years. Just look at neglect when you pull in drive. Weeds everywhere. Bushes overgrown and it's not from lack of employees as you go in the door always plenty of help standing at checkouts. I don't know if business was sold by family after death of patriarch or younger generation doesn't care about future of business.They've never been the friendliest to deal with but I could find hard to locate items so rudeness tolerated until last night Looked up hours. Says open til seven Met a lady coming back to car at 5:51 Said they closed at six. Okay it's not six Somebody else pulled upThree customers before 6:00 (according to my iPhone and not my own watch)I've been gardening for 25 years and I've had enough Save your aggravation and go to Suburban, Grass Pad, Colonial, or Family Tree. Anyone else!You'll enjoy your efforts and money even more. I'm done Heartland.

Outdoor Trees and shrubs/ perennial plants I will purchase again, but the vegetables, tomatoes,peppers, and especially the cantaloupes, and watermelons probably not I Purchase 16 garden plants after two days before putting in ground plants starting looking bad, I tried to return/exchange 3 of the melon plants and I was told no return/exchange policy "Ok cool" I have been garden 20 years plus and this has convinced me to going back to planting seeds........

Purchased an arborvitae and was told there was a one-year warranty. It did not survive so I took it back. The person I spoke to was rude and dismissive and told me there was no warranty. I wanted to continue to support this local business but will not in the future.

very disappointed as the customer service was horrible and the prices are high! the owner/ manger was rude and thought he was better than the customers. he is not about plants, flowers or the people who shop there. I will not be going back!

Terrible customer service!!! We tried to return an acorn pick up tool that we bought six weeks ago. Never used. The guy can clearly see in our rewards account that we purchased it there however it was 6 weeks ago. We were unable to return it and the customer service was horrible. We l had at least $300 worth of flowers in our cart and we were trying to return a $60 tool that was never used! This was an experience that wouldn't want any of our friends or clients to experience. Shame on them for not taking care of their customers.

My wife purchased a lawn ornament...An eagle. It was $300. It was designed for outdoor use. After 3 days of use, it failed. We did have some 30 mile per hour winds, which shouldn't have caused it to fail. My wife contacted Heartland and spoke with one of the managers. He told her to bring it back and they would refund the money. She brought it back and the son of the owner was extremely rude to my wife. He told her that it was our fault for using it in bad weather! I called and spoke to him stating that we used it as it was intended and it failed. He offered to give me half of the money. I did not accept that. He hung up the phone. I have called them multiple times attempting to speak with Sherry, the owner, and she refuses to call me back! AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE! I don't know what the hell is wrong with these people, but they have no business dealing with the public. I am contacting my attorney even if I have to spend money on this. They are ridiculous people.

A Heartland employee, Cliff, was very rude and short with me. I called Sherry the owner about the incident and she told me the reason is that Cliff has been working 90 hour weeks. I told her I could understand from all the questions they get when they don't have inventory on hand and it isn't acceptable to work her employees to point of exhaustion. She said she couldn't get help and now I understand the work environment at Heartland. Sherry thanked me for my past business. I assured her that future business is more important than the past.
