Heartland Camps & Retreat Center

What a wonderful place. I had the privilege of staying here in a recent trip to the Kansas City Area. The Heartland Center is a retreat and conference center run by the Presbyterian Church with a variety of levels of accommodations from hotel-style rooms to campgrounds to dorm style. Food is served in a dining hall and activities include horseback riding, ropes courses, a pool and more.The Staff it great, conference rooms are perfect for many sizes of events and the space is overall very clean.If you need a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, a home base from which to explore the KC area or a site to hold a company or church training/retreat, be sure to put the Heartland Center on your list.

We LOVE Heartland Camps & Retreat Center!Camp Review - Our 2 kids love coming to day camp each summer. We always sign them up for several weeks. They've made new friends, gotten out of their shells, and had wonderful experiences doing all the standard camp things - riding horses, swimming, crafts, archery, and just being in nature! The staff is amazing and really cares for the kids as individuals. Retreat Review - My parents live out of town and have stayed in a retreat lodge for extended Christmas stays for the last 3 years. It has been a great way for our family to all get together, mom still gets to "host", and grandkids have plenty of space to play. The staff have always gone above and beyond to make sure all needs are met and that our family has a comfortable stay.

Looking for a great facility for your next meeting and/or group retreat. Our quilt group have used Heartland for our bi-annual quilt retreats. The staff at Heartland work hard to accommodate our needs and to make sure every visit is to our satisfaction. The kitchen staff will meet all your dietary needs and always provide delicious meals.The facility is set in a picture perfect location and provides us with the feel that we are far away from city life, but actually we are only minutes from anything we need...major highways, the Kansas City Airport, The Legends, the Kansas City Raceway, Leavenworth, etc.

If you are looking for a dedicated Christian value based camp for your kids this is it. Their counselors work so hard to empower strong self esteem in each person. We sent kids from our housing nonprofit here and it truly made them feel that God cared about each one of them. They felt like they belonged and they came back feeling more confident and better about themselves. Excellent run organization!
