I used to work at harrahs and I go there often, but I feel it's kind of in a transition right now. I am hoping that they really improve their dining options, as they have been pretty bad for awhile. The Gordon Ramsey steakhouse is great, but it's a more expensive night out kind of place. Harrahs desperately needs more inexpensive casual options. Winning streaks is not good, overpriced blah food. The Bite and Bean and Asian place on the casino floor are also overpriced blah. The buffet used to be good but it's been long gone since Covid. The players lounge is only open Friday and Saturday evening I believe, and you just get a few drinks and popcorn, used to get hot food that was pretty decent. No more soda machines on the floor since Covid, but a server will bring you a drink. The buffets and soda machines need to come back, the players lounge needs to go back to more drinks and hot meals as well. Covid panic is way over and that excuse is way old. Machine and table selection are ok. Harrahs seems to move slots around a lot and often takes good ones away for some reason. Non Smoking room is nice, but not much variety in there especially video poker. Harrahs needs to take a note from argosy and get some newer video poker and slots. Harrahs just seems drab and lifeless most of the time these days. Used to be more exciting and more payouts, slot variety etc. I hope they turn it around.

Stayed 2 nights at Harrah's Kansas City Hotel and Casino. It was a delightful stay I must say. This place is about 20 minutes or so from the airport and 10 minutes from the heart of downtown Kansas City. I really liked this hotel/casino cause there is so much to do here. They have a good amount of diverse restaurants that fits all budget needs. And my hotel room was super cozy and relaxing. My room was very clean and the housekeeping service was top notch.I also fancy the casino that I have to say is pretty safe and is a great way to explore and play responsibly. They also have a nice restaurant inside the casino that's open 24 hours. Haha!

I recently completed a stay at "Harrah's Kansas City". I checked in Monday afternoon and checked out Friday morning. For the most part, I was pleased with my hotel stay. But assumptions I made when booking were erroneous--but more on that later.Booking ::I am a Caesar's Rewards member. I booked my room using the Caesars*com website (not a travel aggregator). The process was straight forward. Keeping track of my reservation was easy, as I had the Caesar's app on my mobile device. If you exclude the resort fee, the room rate offered was good. And the room assigned could be described as a mini suite. It had more square footage than a typical hotel room. This extra square footage allowed them to fit additional furniture: a love seat, reading chair, reading lamp and ottoman/table.Registration ::Check-in time is 4:00p. I arrived at noon and asked if I could check-in early. I was informed that there was an additional fee of $15.00 (plus tax) for early check-in. I opted to return later. I asked if the restaurants on site were open. I was told "yes". But when I went to the area of the resort where the eateries were, they were all closed. The only thing open was a snack bar. I went off site for lunch.I came back, after 4:00p. The desk clerk (different from my first encounter) was fast, efficient and generally pleasant. The Room ::Addressing the basics: The carpet was "clean"--but there were random stains. The bed was comfortable. The sheets were clean and white. The bathroom was clean. The towels were clean; some specimens were newer than others. The furniture was clean and in good condition--but there were some stains on soft surfaces, small nicks and chips on the hard surfaces. The room had a refrigerator, and it was clean and free of odors. The TV and Wi-Fi worked well. Wi-Fi is free; you can connect up to two devices.Parking ::Parking is free. There is a large surface parking lot in front to the hotel. There is a multi-level parking structure adjacent to the casino.Maintenance ::On Tuesday morning, I informed the front desk that the bathroom sink drained slowly. While I was out of the room, maintenance snaked the drain and left a calling card to identify who had done the work. The Casino ::When I booked my stay, I did not expect the facility to be like Las Vegas--maybe like Reno. Frankly, I've seen more activity at a tribal casino.Final Thoughts ::I had never been to Kansas City before. The reasoning for staying at this resort was that if I was too tired to go off site, there would be restaurants on premises. But the hours of operation for all of the restaurants were really limited. I thought that if I was too tired for tourism, I could go to the casino. But the casino wasn't too inspiring.I also think the resort lost an opportunity to ingratiate itself to a Caesar's client. When I arrived, the parking lot was deserted. It was obvious that rooms were available for early check-in. But management just wanted that incremental income.Knowing what I know now, I could have gotten a room that was just as nice--slightly less expensive if there was no "resort fee".I was also surprised how slow business was. Maybe it is slow midweek. Exploring the facility, I noticed that there are a lot of really nice meeting rooms on site. Maybe they could try to market themselves for business meetings and retreats.

It had been many years since we stayed at this Harrah's. We did not remember the casino being so small. My wife had a great comment, " this is where slot machines go to die". Most of the slot machines appeared to be older than we see at other casinos. We stayed there one night in a room we were told was recently remodeled. The room was fine, nothing fancy. We did have a coffee maker and a small refrigerator. We were disappointed that we had just two bath towels and wash clothes. The shower was fine, but shorter people will have difficulty reaching the highly-placed shower head. Parking for the hotel is ample. The hotel is separate from the casino, but it is just a short walk through a hallway. I believe it is Missouri state law that the casino cannot give out free drinks. We didn't play any table games. I failed to look at the video poker machines to see what their payout is. So many casinos have reduced video poker payouts, even in Vegas. The casino wasn't terribly smoky, but it wasn't that crowded for a Saturday night.

This place is straight out of the 90's! Desperately needs a remodel. I found a memory card in the TV a previous guest left from 2012. The food choices are dismal. The breakfast buffet should be free. There wasn't a single person eating, for VERY good reason. I will not be back to a Caesar's property.

This place is bad... really bad. We came here to eat at Gordan Ramsay Steak, which was excellent. Definitely recommend the beef wellington! We decided it might be nice to just stay here afterwards, but never again. The halls and rooms are musty, the carpets are disgusting, there are stains all over the walls, the light switches and lamp switches are all gross, and the sheets are stained. I will not be back to stay here, but I may stop at the restaurant again. Also, if you're used to vegas casinos - they don't comp drinks here like they do in vegas.

HEY KC! Test your luck at the tables or slots at Harrah's in North KC. Did you know you can earn $10 free cash when you visit for the first time? There are plenty of fun opportunities and games to play for your chance at winning some money. I tested my luck at my favorite slot game: Buffalo Run! Did I win anything?? Nothing but fun this time! Roll the dice, push the button, take your guess...the choice is up to you! The staff is nice and there is a full bar to order drinks from. Once you are done with all the fun, you can head up to your cozy bed in a clean and beautiful room at the Harrah's Hotel. Check out Harrah's with your friends or partner to switch up the routine weeknight activity. Harrah's is also a great spot to celebrate a birthday, bachelor/bachelorette party, or date night! Add Harrah's Kansas City to your KC Bucket List!

Went to Kansas City for my husbands 40th birthday. We chose to stay at Harrah's... This was our very first time visiting Harrah's. We will never stay here again. I will say, the staff is absolutely amazing and this review reflects directly on the property itself. We stayed in the Vegas tower (recently remodeled). We were initially put on the 4th floor, that room has issues with the air conditioner making a super loud clicking noise. We were moved to the 2nd floor in a much different room, quite a bit of a downgrade. The hotel area is non smoking, however smoking is permitted on the casino floor. Outside of the casino floor it's smoke free. The second floor room smelled like dirt and cigarettes. The hotel sent someone up the next day to ionize the room. It did remove some of the smell until the day we checked out. On our second night we had a strange burning electrical smell suddenly come through our vent. We quickly gathered our things and alerted security and proceeded outside. We went back inside the hotel about an hour later and security said they didn't notice anything. We returned to our room, the burnt electrical smell wasn't so bad but still evident. The noise you can hear from inside your room, from the rooms next door, were extremely loud. The good thing: We dined at Winning Streaks a couple times during our stay. My husband had the shredded beef sandwich which was good. I opted for a mushroom Swiss burger. The burger was okay. The next day my husband had a Philly and I opted for the fried chicken sandwich. They were both good. We also got the chips and queso which was the highlight of our food adventure at Harrah's. The casino was two levels. Small high limit room. Several table games. Okay payouts. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're used to motel 6 quality. My one night stay here was fine. I think most people are being a bit to harsh on the place. If you're expecting Vegas' level Harrah's or Caesars then you'll be disappointed. The hotel and the casino are pretty small and smokey. Yes, the rooms are dated but mine was clean and quiet, plus the bed was comfy. Considering the night was comped, I'd say it was a great stay. If you're offered a comped room and are OK with it being dated and a slight smoke smell, then don't hesitate to book here.Lastly, I played tables and slots. These are some tight slots. I did not win at tables or slots.
