Inside the slums of Johnson County, or as close to the slums you can get, there's Harbor Freight. This is a nicer looking Harbor Freight, compared to most which are in bad areas. Of course, that's part of how they keep the prices low.For those not familiar, Harbor Freight sells all sorts of tools and such equipment from various countries, usually starting with China then going down the price scale. However, the power tools are of poor quality. They're good for a few uses, but not much. Hand tools, however, are hand tools.Compared to others, this one is a bit bigger. In the back, they have the carts set up to look at, which was the main reason I came in. The narrow aisles and crowded setup is still there, just a lot more items to use up the extra space though. The smell of grease still permeates though the store.Overall, this might be the fanciest Harbor Freight around, although it is still Harbor Freight. And if you do shop here, make sure you have a 20% off coupon and the coupon for a free flashlight.

As someone just starting a new hobby, I need tools. Lots of tools, most of which I can certainly buy online, but when I'm looking for something relatively standard that I want or need NOW, and for a good price, Harbor Freight comes through. My jewelry making teacher suggested that I go to Harbor Freight to pick up the different levels of sandpaper I need for our class, so that was my first order of business. Oddly, the sandpaper I needed was not on the sanding aisle (that seems to be devoted to belts and wheels), so it took me awhile to find the actual paper, but in the meantime I picked up a soldering pick/reamer, a plastic divided box to hold my unset gemstones, and a stubby ball peen hammer (that's one with a short handle, for metal stamping purposes), all for well under $10 total. Add in my sandpaper, which my husband finally found, and I'm good to go!Browsing was fun - the store is not fancy or flashy, but they have a ton of stuff, including some metal stamps, doming blocks, and other things that I didn't really expect to see. Prices were very reasonable, the staff we interacted with were friendly, and we ended up signing up for the coupons/flyer, as it sounds like a pretty good deal. Hello, occasional freebie!!All in all, now that I need tools, I know that I'll be a frequent shopper at tool and home improvement stores. Harbor Freight is certainly a good starting point, especially when it comes to buying reasonably priced essentials. I'll definitely be back, and look forward to seeing what else I can find as I browse.

Bought a imitation outside security camera and when I got home and opened the box.... It was broken. I don't go to harbor freight very often so when I went back several months later... They said it was over 90 days and even though I had a receipt... They said they couldn't take the return. Very black and white when it comes to returns.....I will open everything and inspect it from now on before leaving the store.

Harbor freight is generally easier to find stuff than when inside a big box store. It's a lot cheaper, too. If you need an occasional use power tool, you can buy it cheaper here than you can likely rent it.

I love this store. Their stuff is cheap but it works for me. I come here quite often. I get e-mails and coupons from them and sometimes I use them. Convenient. The folks inside are helpful if you can find one. It's a busy place. I'll be back.

Just left Leavenworth store. Horrid customer service. Employees too busy visiting with each other and talking on their phones to show me to product. Made me feel like I was a bother.6/12/233:15

This was my first time shopping at Harbor Freight. I saw two workers at the front door NOT wearing A MASK Countless customers were not wearing masks. How can you defy the law and not have staff and customers wearing masks? I will not be back.

I go to this place from time to time and it's alright. Lots of fun to browse and find things that come in handy for the home or shop. The employees seems friendly and are helpful. The tools they have are not top of the line by any means, but for the price I think they are a good value.

You just can't beat the prices at this place. Add onto that the sales, coupons and some free things with a purchase, why wouldn't you go here. I know you get what you pay for and some items may not be at the highest quality, but the majority of their items are. They may not have everything you would find at the big box stores, but what they do have is going to save you some bucks.
