Since my hubby and I did not make it to our annual trip to KC last year(due to my double mastectomy last October), it felt great to be back this year in KC and to make our annual Halls stop. As in years past we stopped by to pick up several ornaments as part of our holiday tradition for family, friends, and as a promise to my late mother. We picked up a woof doggie bone for a friend who lost her fur baby a couple years ago(I figured she needed a snack, lol). My husband also helped to shop for a dear friend, who just recently lost her son the very beginning of this month(I found an angel happy and he found a male elf ornament to go with it, to honor her angel this holiday season). We also found ornaments to honor our cats and dogs that have crossed the rainbow bridge and that are still here with us. Finally, the last is a promise I made to my late mother. To continue her egg tree(so I picked up the latest eggs to add to the collection.I added 13 more.I will be adding pictures to make another picture book as soon as I can. I try to make a book so I know which ones I have and don't get duplicates). The ornaments are an affordable way to bring a piece of Kansas City home with you.

Halls meets the definition of a department store, but it is pretty small for one. Located inside Crown Center, Halls is a high-end store that carries a number of designer names. However, the selection is somewhat limited with styles leaning on the mature side. Also, it does not have a clothing section for kids. On the bright side, there seems to always be a clearance sale going on at Halls so there are some good deals to be found. It also has a bar and cafe, H Bar, for if you happen to need to take a shopping break in the small store. Since there is no Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, or any of those high-end department stores in the Kansas City area, Halls is the only store you can physically go to. Unlike its competitors though, Halls has only one location and does not have an online store. Also, the staff at Halls are hit or miss. A few are nice, but a lot are just snobby. I am reluctant to say that Halls is the most high-end department store in the Kansas City area, but it is simply due to the lack of competition. Go to Halls if you have to for the physical shopping experience. I prefer online shopping and having more options over shopping at Halls.

A favorite stop in Kansas City! They carry a wide variety of top name brands and designers. Alyssa is wonderful, super friendly and will always give you an honest opinion. I love their women's selection as well as hand bags.

These people were really nice! We have flew in for a birthday party, Julian Vaughan a great jazz artist if you like Jazz check him out, and did not have time to shop for a gift prior. The stores in KC close early, very early in comparison to H-Town. This store was closing in 5 min when we arrived and part of the store inside was already closed. We went in a spit to hit three different ares. The people stayed in the three areas and helped us as well as allowed us to take as much time as needed. We never felt rushed. I recommend the store and will visit every time I visit KC. Thanks for your excellent customer service!

Only place in town at this point for any high end shopping or looking. I miss the Halls on the Plaza but Crown Center is good also.

Cool shop in KC with a great selection of menswear. Had to be in town for a January meeting, and coming from Florida I don't own a winter coat that fits. The salespeople at Halls quickly took stock of my style and recommended a coat that I've been wearing for a couple of days that gets the sweetest compliments everywhere I go.

Tried a suit on this past Friday, with the help of two staff members, and they told me it would be ready to get fitted on Wednesday. I called and they had no information on this suit, even though they took down all my information. I needed it in a timely manner for a wedding (after being re-assured that it would be ready), and unfortunately this well-regarded company left me with pure disappointment. Will be difficult to go back to this store in the future.

Fun Christmas shopping experience. Worth the time to go. Seeing kids ice skating was fun. Be prepared to pay upscale pricing if your shopping.

I received very poor customer service here when making a return. I carefully read the receipt before making the trip with my broken foot and knee scooter. The receipt clearly says within 30 days and items marked off less than 50% can be returned. I went to return a dress I had purchased 40% off for a wedding I could not attend due to having broken my foot. This was day 30 since the purchase. I was refused the return and also refused store credit. I try to shop local, but will re-think this in the future now that I have been treated this way. Additionally, one of the two store representatives rolled her eyes repetitively while I was talking with the first representative. Very disappointing, Halls.
