This store reminds me of the little neighborhood grocery stores of my childhood. And I love that. For some fairly small square footage, they pack a lot of all kinds of interesting snacks, mixes, flours, cheeses, kitchen supplies. You could spend all day just looking at everything on the shelves. I'm glad others got pictures of the inside because I was afraid it would be offensive to the Mennonites who run the place. I love their cheeses, the smoothie mixes and the spices. Prices are super reasonable, probably because they aren't paying for fancy packaging. There's also a bakery adjacent to the store building, where you can buy some of the best pies and rolls ever. Everything about this store is a pleasure. Finding so many unusual spices and mixes is amazing. Listening to the stories from visitors and even the sweet girls behind the counter just adds to the experience. I keep promising myself I'll come back when I have hours to spend, really looking at all the foods offered and then filling up my cart with yummy stuff to take home.

Don't get your panties all in a bunch, if you find that not everything here is genuinely Amish. Their jams, butter, some snacks and baking items are though. What I LOVE about this store and area is the charm. The Amish people are nice and super helpful. You see young people having fun, working together and not obsessively staring at their phones. This store is bigger than most and even has a fresh bakery next door. Visitors come from near and far, to shop here, so people tend to engage with each other and tell stories of how they found the place. You can even sit outside and share your snack, with a new friend or two. The prices are really great and the rest of the town is fun to visit too!

Great store! Love the pretzels! DO NOT purchase the "Cheddar Supreme" cheddar cheese. Trust me on this. Nearly inedible with an ammonia aftertaste that lingers seemingly for hours. Maybe it was a bad batch but yikes!!! Everything else was wonderful!!

This store has nearly everything you might need. Bulk spices, noodles, variety of baking items, nuts, candies, rolled butter, cheeses, etc. You'll be sorry if you don't stock up while you're there, but it will just give you another excuse to make a trip! Don't forget they're closed on Thursdays and Sundays!!

I lived not too far from jamesport a little over 30 years ago and my dad did business with the owners, who no long own it. Henry and Mary and all the amish community were wonderful people to deal with. I was there almost 20 years ago and walked into the store and it hasn't changed. It is a great place to visit and great products.

We stopped by H&M during a one-on-one tour of Jamesport and returned for more detailed shopping. We love, love, love the Natural Pumpkin Dip mix that we picked up - and the 2 bags of gingersnaps. We wished we would have picked up more!Granted, not everything is produced in the area - but there were great prices on many of our favorite snacks and treats. We stocked up a bagful - and probably should have purchased a little more.A definite on any trip through Jamesport!

Great little market to pick up natural items and bulk dry goods. They also have great local fresh produce, fresh eggs and cheese products. Granted, not everything made here comes from the Amish community. However, unlike the previous reviewer, you do have to read the labels or simply ask. There were several items that I asked about and the staff was more than happy to show me was was made locally in the community and what wasn't. The produce was amazing, very fresh.

A must stop when you're in Jamesport. Spices, snacks, candies, cheese, even Amish butter are some of the items you'll find here. They have an abundance of premixed spices for everything from rubs, to seasoning salts, to pies and cakes, etc. They also have a selection of kitchen gadgets, but that's a smaller section compared to the rest of the place. I do wish they had some of their items in smaller bags. There are plenty of things I'd like to try, but just don't need quite that much. That doesn't apply to the butter pretzel sticks though. No bag is too large for those addictive crunchy goodies. Prices are decent and the staff is friendly. It's just a nice place to pop in and come away with some items.

H & M Country Store is one of my favorite stores to shop in Jamesport, MO. I used to visit at least once per month since it was about 2 hrs from where I lived but it was worth every visit to get my Cowboy Candy (Jalapeno Jelly), the Handmade Spoons and Ladles as well as all the other fine products they offered. The Amish Cheeses and Butter is the best you can put in your mouth. I have NEVER had anything from this store that I didn't like; excellent. When in season, I would even purchase the tomatoes that were SO Big and Tasty. I miss you guys since I moved back South after the military days and love the service you always gave me. Thank you and hoping you do ship because you are getting a call to check...LOL. Your handmade spoons and ladles have been sent all the way to New Hampshire and all over the states. Hey, as I stated, "You are my favorite!" Signed Disabled US Army Vet...Anglia Emmendorfer
