Gyro meat is delicious, has a little crisp to it. Perfect food on the walk home if you live downtown on a Friday or Saturday Night.Did not realize they were at Hospital Hill, might have to go out of my way for another Gyro very soon. Awesome people, always friendly and helpful! Ask for recommendations, they'll be real with you.Shout out Yanal (Bro, I'm sorry I don't know if I'm spelling that right.) From your boys; Tim, Sam and TK! Keep grinding young buck!

So so fire I want the chicken and beef gyros every day. Friendly folks. Delicious food. Hot tip: order it "hot" with the chili sauce. If I ever do a huge event I want these guys to come and sell food. WHICH I TOTALLY WILL. Love you Gyro Express - youre my fav food truck in the city.

This gyro truck is often parked outside of the medical school and has been source for very many of my meals! My go to meal is the hummus and falafel sandwich and if I've had a long day, I get a piece of baklava! The sandwich is generously filled with several falafel pieces and plenty of fresh hummus. They add some greens, tomatoes and onions and an amazing hot sauce! (I'd recommend asking for this on the side especially if you are sensitive to spice because it definitely has a kick.) The pita bread itself is also fantastic - soft and warm. All together, this entree always serves as a heart warming meal while I'm working. I should also note that especially given that it is a food truck, I'm pretty impressed by the consistent flavor and quality of food. The prices are honestly the best on hospital hill. Some of the other trucks that come around, tend to be pricier. The sandwiches run around $4 and the baklava is $1. They also have some traditional sides including fries, chips, etc which are all reasonably priced. I would keep in mind that this area on hospital hill tends to get busy around lunch time and when the gyro express is the only truck on the hill, there will be a bit of a wait (usually up to 10 minutes). You can call and order ahead of the time which is especially convenient if you're with a group of people ordering, if you're short on time, or when it's particularly cold outside.

This gyro truck is pretty much one of the staples for the various UMKC Health Sciences Students and staff, as well as the staffs of the hospitals located on Hospital Hill.... generally a small line outside it. The truck generally parks on the right side of Holmes between the pharmacy school and the medical school. The beef and lamb gyros are wonderful (mine and my husband's favorite gyros in the city). Love the hot sauce that comes on them and the tzatziki sauce is very flavorful. The falafel sandwich is great for when you want a change of pace. They don't just carry middle eastern lunch items... there's burgers, tuna sandwiches, club sandwiches, and Philly steak sandwiches.Their prices are low (hence the heavy flow of students who love them)... all the sandwich and meal items run under $3.50 with sodas running about $0.75 = less than the machines in the schools. I typically get a gyro and baklava for a total of $4.50... and tip the extra $0.50 from my fiver.Oh, today while I was in line... I learned that you can call your order in ahead of time... you don't have to wait in line! = great if you are short on time!

This truck got me through some rough times in school. There's always an assortment of food trucks on hospital hill at lunch time, but the Gyro truck always has the longest line and for GOOD REASON. The food is unbelievably cheap and and tasty. You can't go wrong with a chicken gyro and if you can handle some heat, ask for spicy sauce on your gyro. Their hummus and pita "side" is actually quite filling and wayyy better than that storebought stuff. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here!

Have you seen all these food trucks showing up around KC? woooo-eee those things are getting fancy! What with all their locally sourced, vegan, gluten free, free range wonderfulness? That's all well and good for you high-falootin foodies out there, but some people like their food truck experiences with a little less pretension. Something tried and true. Something like Gyro Express.I remember stumbling towards Gyro Express for over a decade now, as a barely-legal drinker coming into Kansas City to party in Westport. 3:00 AM would roll around, and I'd stumble from whatever terrible bar that i thought at the time was awesome, heading into the general direction of this food truck. To this day I love their gyros. They taste like nostalgia. And tzatziki sauce. Yes, it is true. Gyro express makes a killer gyro. All lamby and tzatziki-ey. Pillowly pita. mmmmm. What they also make is a killer falafel sandwich. Delightful fried balls of chickpeas wrapped in pita, served with the aforementioned heavenly sauce, lettuce and tomato? Vegetarian street night gloriousness. Today, this truck can generally be found in Westport in the evening, though I have seen it show up at 13th and Main off of the Power and Light District. I'm not going to say it's the best food ever. Often times I will pass it up for something a bit more highbrow. But when you're in a certain frame of mind, it more than hits the spot.

Fantastic Gyro- loaded with goodies! They have great Gyro's for a great price. As of 2/11/13, you can get a combination Gyro (lamb and beef) for $3.75, the portion is large and you get get it spiced up with their chile sauce. They are regularly parked out at Hospital Hill between the School of Pharmacy Building and Children's Mercy from about 11:00-2:30 (I could be wrong this is an approximate). The service is quick. Through cold, wind, snow, rain, and shine, I'll be there. I've been to Chicago, New York, and L.A., this family serves up gyros that are just as good, and you can't beat the price. Weekends you can find them at PNL, he price goes up to $5.00 but still well worth it after the Bars are closing. Think of the price as shift differential and they have to put up with drunks! Additional Menu Items include the following: Felafel, Baklava, hamburgers, hummus, vegetarian gyros, soda, water, ..etc.

Nothing fancy, but the food is wonderful. I get the Gyro sandwich, spicy. My vegetarian wife likes their hummus more than any other she has tried. Baklava is just the right sweetness and texture. Food is always hot and fresh. They do sear the Gyro meat, which might be part of their "secret". Reasonably priced. It can be a little bit of a wait during peak lunch time because they have earned their popularity with the local med students and people who are smart enough to skip the cafeteria at the hospitals. I walked dozens of times from the towers in Children's Mercy down through the ER to get to their truck.
