Beautiful staircase and railings, befitting this grand structure!
It goes without saying...this IS the Grand Hall!
THAT "unimpressive" door under all THAT impressive architectural adornment! Perhaps the original doors befitted their surroundings.
Front of the station viewed from the promenade of U.S. flags

View out the back window of this glamorous, historic train station
Impressive adornment for a very unimpressive door!
A simply spectacular door frame!
A balanced perspective...of Kansas history and the Veteran's Memorial
Historical importance of the Santa Fe Railroad to Topeka
So grand and beautiful, from the windows, to the intricately tiled ceilings, to the magnificent chandeliers!
If the women did not marry during their time as a Harvey Girl, they would be provided the means to travel to any location of their choosing!
The impressive and imposing Topeka Railway Station
Memorial, advertising, and commemorative blocks in the walkway from the fountain to the station.
"Kansas: Unimaginable without the Santa Fe" Fascinating history throughout the railroad station...even if you're not a history buff!
Kansas Pacific map of 1873, and historic buildings
Many events to show off the station
Women and girls will be fascinated by the "Harvey Girl Rules" and an offer (probably) too good to refuse (at the time) in their contract!
Enlarge to appreciate the detail of the doorway over the previously mentioned "unimpressive door"
"INUNDATED!" You'll have to go there to fully appreciate this story and pictures.

Very cool train museum! Opened originally in 1927, and recently restored to its original appearance. It is apparently available as an event venue as the large room can be set up with chairs and tables with a kitchen off to one side.Mini-train set that was very cool, full-size train driver system set up, many artifacts and exhibits showing the early history of Kansas and specifically the Union-Pacific Railroad.Interesting to see the marker for the Kansas River flood of 1951 that was above the height of my head![Review 11418 overall, 1195 of 2019.]

So patriotic, love the flags! They caught my eye as I crossed the Kansas River and I had to see what they were. The monument honoring the Medal of Valor recipients is beautiful!

Rude staff; website was not up-to-date and they tried to charge us 3 times the listed price online to enter. we drove over an hour and had to just walk away with two crying children. Awful.
