First picture was our own painting from 2/17, 2nd picture is what the instructor did as she was walking us through. 3rd photo is a reference of what we did with them 2yrs ago. Our first experience with them 2 years ago was great, it was done at a good pace, party size was small and intimate. You had time to ask questions the artist could and would stop and give you someIndividual attention if needed. Now the experience we had last night was not good. We had a full class there was 6 couples in total. Our canvases were not ready when we arrived, we stood in the lobby and didn't have direction on what we needed to do or goad there wasn't anyone to greet us. So we decided to walk in and stood there until someone gave us a spot to sit in. She apologized for running behind as we had to wait for her to outline 12 canvases, she said the class size blew up at the last minute and they didn't have the time needed to be prepared ahead of time since they had to make an emergency supply run. Not a big deal!45min later we start the actual instruction she said it would be speed painting techniques. The instruction went so fast that no one in the class could keep up, at one point someone spoke up and said we aren't ready as we were all several steps behind. What should have been 2hrs of painting and instruction turned in to a 1hr and 15min painting class. We all felt rushed and overwhelmed with the pace she was leading us at. My wife asked for support/help at the end once several couples left. She stopped by for a second but really didn't offer much support she left her board with my wife for reference but went back to cleaning up from the class. Overall it was not the same experience we had the first time, as we didn't feel we were given the same level of care or time to walk away with something we would be happy to hang up in our home. Overall we didn't have a good experience lastnight and as a small business I feel that there roadblock of not being ready for our class affected us and the quality of our experience as they rushed our class to finish on time as the previous class ran late so ultimately we suffered from that. And I don't feel they took the proper steps to make the moment right. We are unsure if we will reserve a class with them again.

The seats weren't preassigned on public night so get there early to grab one especially if you're meeting someone there. As a project manager, I can appreciate someone who takes care of all of the details. After a chaotic day, all I had to do was show up. Literally. Just bring your wine and snacks. It's been a very very veryyyy long time since I've picked up a paint brush. I'm still amazed that I was able to create this beautiful master piece. Overall, we had a great time. Our instructor Steve made the session seem effortless, fun, relaxing and all of that good stuff. It helped that he was very upbeat and personable. Happy Painting. Cheers.

I've been to a few painting parties before and have to say that my experience here is my favorite! We chose a more challenging painting and were given a stencil to follow (thank goodness and it was a huge time saver too!). The instructors were fantastic, very helpful along the way, and were funny too. It made it a very enjoyable experience for the whole group. I should also mention, this was supposed to be 1-1.5 hrs, but the instructors let us take our time and were thorough. We were there for just under 3 hours! My only complaint was the party went a few people overboard and it was a little cramped, but it wasn't really a big deal. Also, it's byob and food, but they do provide free water bottles.

I run a meetup group in KC (Nerdy 30s ladies! yas!) and I was looking for a sip and paint place that would work for us. Grapes and Paints was absolutely perfect. If you have more than 5 people, you can have the studio to yourself and bring whatever food and drink you like. A group of 14 of us came in on a Saturday morning. We brought in mimosas and all kinds of breakfast items while Steve stepped us through the painting that we chose. STEVE! Steve is awesome! Really hilarious. The time flew by and I appreciated that he encouraged us to think creatively and experiment with techniques and have fun with it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and plan on bringing my group back. I coordinate a lot of events around town, and Grapes and Paints made this very easy for me.

There was a beach picture that was close to what I was wanting to paint (with French doors). I signed up with Grapes and Paints, as of all the ones I'd seen locally at this type of paint store was the most attractive of all.Mandy was our artist of the evening, and she was fun and encouraging. We were encouraged to branch out on our own if we wanted to adjust our painting. I did, and I'm glad. I left out the doors, and added another palm tree, and some starfish. I'm very pleased with how it turned out, and now I might even be able to paint a similar one on my own, thanks to getting out of my comfort zone, and Mandi's tips. It isn't Monet by any means, but it means something to me, and I like it.It was a busy two hours, but I think everyone had fun. I really enjoyed seeing other people's paintings as well, and the liberties that they took with theirs.

I booked a private party as a family gathering and this event ended up being the highlight of our holiday week! There were the obvious concerns at first...variety of ages (grand kids 10, 13 to grandparents in their 70s). We have a few non-creatives and perfectionists in the group, but things couldn't have turned out better. We chose to paint "Paradise" with owner, Amy's guidance and instructor, Wanda was extremely patient. We brought wine and ordered pizza and they provided water.Turns out the paints dry pretty quickly, so it was easy for Wanda to guide us through "repair" work and everyone finished with something to be proud of.Without question, we will rebook and choose a different painting for future family gatherings in KC! Thanks to Amy and Wanda for giving us a priceless family memory!

Well, I learned last night that, while I am crafty, I am not a painter! I am also a perfectionist who tends to get stressed out when things I make don't turn out the way I want them to...and yet, I'm still giving Grapes and Paints 4 stars, because I ended up having a pretty good time and I think this is a fun concept. (And I can't blame them for my lack of artistic talent!)I bought a Living Social deal awhile back, as my husband and I like to do some different activities for date night, and the offer was not only a great deal but also seemed like something that would be fun. Plus, it got us out of the house on a weeknight! Woo Hoo! So, we arrived, bottle of wine in hand, and in short order we were painting. There was actually a pretty large group of people there - a few couples, a mother and daughter, and a large birthday party, and everyone was friendly and having fun. Everyone was also kind to everyone else regarding our different artistic "styles" - there was some good natured teasing, but even I didn't feel too bad about my not so great piece of "art"!All of the supplies were provided for us, including our palettes of paint, and clean up is included as well, which was really nice. Many of us had absolutely no prior experience with any kind of painting (elementary school doesn't count!), but the instructor was patient, and walked around the room several times offering suggestions and help. She kept everyone at relatively the same speed, and was encouraging whenever someone expressed concern over any paint related issues they might be having. She was also quick to compliment different aspects of everyone's painting. For the guys out there, my husband turned out to be a reasonable painter, and had a really good time, even though men were certainly in the minority last night. He said he liked trying something new and different, and would go back again.I don't know that my finished piece will ever grace any walls, though it is growing on me! However, I would go back for another date night, or with a group of friends - and that should be a ringing endorsement! If even a perfectionist who sucks at painting had a good time at Grapes and Paints, I think just about anyone would enjoy themselves here.

I've never painted before and was a little nervous on how this would turn out. The entire experience was a blast. They let you bring your own beer or wine which helps take the edge off. Walking you step by step through the process of creating a masterpiece, you can stop and get help at any time. At the end, we had two paintings that are hung on the wall and have already booked our next visit! Too fun!
