Grand Slam Convenience

Only came here for the gas and for the liquor. Gas is a hit or miss here but it can be cheaper on some days. It can get pretty pack if you go during peak hours. Usually when I go, it's pretty empty and I can get in and out in no time. As for the liquor, store is clean and they have a pretty good selection of liquor in stock and not too overprice.This location is right off the highway and near river market.

Bathroom is horrendous. Fuel is fine. Liquor selection and quality is great.Service is good and staff are friendly. I'd recommend those looking for booze and snacks to come here. If you're looking for a bathroom...I'd go elsewhere if you can help it.

It's a gas station. Its a liquor store. It's attached to my apartment building. They have burgers and milk, and wine... and ice cream.. and coffee ... you know, the basic essentials of life! Their pumping station is lacking in space yet everyone somehow makes room for their vehicles during rush hour! I see a lot of drug busts here lol. The life in the big city is an exciting one isn't it!Seriously check out their alcohol selection. I won't go anywhere else.

What can you say? You can buy all your basics here, from groceries to a surprisingly wide range of booze.You can pick up a newspaper and some coffee. The staff gets friendlier as you become a regular.Cons: Well, the crowd. Random street folk at all hours. And the lot is always crammed. Also, they need to sell diesel.A good basic downtown.

Let me get this out of the way: YES there are a lot of sketchy characters here. But c'mon, it's a convenience store/liquor store on the outskirts of downtown. That's the fault of geography, not the business themselves. If anybody remembers the OLD Grand Slam, they know that this place is a huge improvement. Night and day, in terms of range of products, cleanliness, and sense of security. It is well lit, people don't hassle you for change outside (at least they don't hassle me) and the sketch factor just seems to be decimated. Plus, those guys behind the counter don't take people's shit, and have no problem kicking people out. The operators of this business have a LOT of factors working against them, and they manage them as best they can. In my book, they do a damn good job. This place is convenient, has a ton of stuff that you might need, and reasonable hours (whats up with other downtown convenience stores shutting down at 5 PM???)I'm a fan.

Grand Slam was a total surprise to me the first time I went in. When I first moved downtown I figured this convenience store would be a bit of a stereotype being downtown and not really by anything else. But whoa! A pretty nice wine selection that is priced well and a decent beer selection. My favorite part..they never close. Everything else can shut down due to blizzards and you can still go and get provisions. Granted this is a convenience store, not a market, so your provision my consist of popcorn, cereal, chips and few bottles of wine (true story). There is a bit of sketch lurking about sometimes but I have to say I have never felt threatened or anything. I also like that it is kept clean and well stocked. The staff is usually helpful and gets you in and out quickly. I like 'em!

This place has perhaps the most mixed feelings of any establishment in the city. Pros and cons time.Pros:- Right off the highway- Sells liquor- Staff is super fast- Clean storeCons:- Right off the highway - Sells liquor- Staff is super fast (so kinda pissed if you take more than 30 seconds to select your alcohol which is behind the counter)... here is where we veer...- The parking lot is basically a death trap- You might be mugged or worse when you visit either inside or outside the store- The one-way makes it really confusing to navigateAll said, I really like the staff here and still visit but I kinda dread it every time.

Why are people even allowed to leave review for convenient stores? When I visit a gas station it's usually because I'm on a road trip and about a second away from peeing my pants. I don't know -- my experiences at a convenient store is ugh buying the cheapest bottled water and overpriced snack -- maybe lotto ticket? If I'm feeling lucky I'll buy a powerball. Who the hell really takes time to give a bad review to a gas station? Did you wake up with a hemorrhoid Susan? Did you forget to take you Xanax? -- so you take out on the poor clerk whose invested almost a lifetime working at that gas station that has provided you gas so your pea sized brain can get home and cook mac n' cheese? What else are you going to complain about? Gun Laws? Good gawd. Thank you for being in business Grand Slam!

Don't shop here. When they get allocated bourbon in, they jack the price up to 10X retail. They will post a price online to get you in the store and then ask you "how much are you willing to pay?" when you arrive. Even if you offer 5X retail, it wont be enough. It's a horrible way to conduct a business. And don't even bother downloading their "app". It's a joke and the inventory isn't remotely accurate. It's a complete waste of time. If you want good alcohol at a good price, go to Gomer's, Lukas, or even Wal-Mart. Stay away from here!
