Honestly they had a few good things here the 2 times I went for prices that were much better than Savers. STILL TOO EXPENSIVE considering they get the stuff for free and abuse their employees (allegedly)

We'll just call this one The Greedwill...Items are ridiculously overpriced...You may as well buy new, because you're NOT going to save at this particular location.

I had not been to Goodwill in ages. I was looking for kids toys, books and games. I had to babysit and I needed backup! I did not see one thing at Salvation Army Store so I headed to Goodwill. I was not going to pay full price for new when I was only babysitting once, right?I was pleasantly surprised by what Goodwill had to offer. There were tons of treasures all in great condition. The items were in good shape and neatly displayed. Everything was arranged in a nice order, easy to spot and examine. The end caps were arranged nicely in an eye catching appeal. Neat, clean and orderly. I was able to find what I needed easily and hassle-free. The attendant that helped me was very nice and friendly. The cashier was equally as nice and helpful. Additionally, the prices were very low and within range. I did not feel as if I was being gouged or taken advantage of as a thrift store customer. Some of these places are very pricey but I did that was the case here. One thing in particular that I liked about this store was that it was brightly lit. It was not dirty or dingy. It was sparkly and whistle clean.

Better stocked than some Goodwill locations I've been to, but that could always change seasonally. I will be back before too long.

The store is easy to navigate. I notice that the staff is trying to distance, although the aisles can be a bit cramped (given the circumstances). It generally is well maintained and organized.

I love to thrift, and I go to Goodwill and other thrift stores a lot. Eighteen months ago I'd have given this location four or five stars. I give it two now because so much has changed. I'll give them a star for cleanliness, but not organization. This is one of the cleaner Goodwills in our area. However, it's gone from being organized to being disorganized. I don't know why they even have a sign up for girl and boy now because I find it all mixed up. Today was the worst I've ever seen it. There were as many dresses in the boy section as there were boys' clothing. It's like they aren't even trying anymore. And sizes are not in any order in the kids' clothes anymore either. The books used to be organized so that the children's books were separate. Now they are all mixed together and not even standing on the shelves, but scattered, half laying flat. It's impossible to look at them without straightening them up. Don't they understand they'd sell more clothes and books if the customer could find thing? Also, I used to think this was a friendly store. There are a few friendly employees left, but some definitely do not like their job, and they act like the customers are a real inconvenience. Often the line to check out is long, but managers stand around and visit, or sit behind the counter. A couple of weeks ago I was in the store standing in a line 8 people deep, and when an employee asked one of the managers if she could help by opening another register, the manager said "I just clocked out". She had indeed just clocked out.... after making eye contact with me in that long line. Then she stood and waited for another employee so they could leave together. I have called the corporate office to complain about the long lines and the indifference and they tell me to talk to the local manager. When I spoke to an assistant manager, I was told to call cooperate and complain to them. If you're looking for a fun place to thrift, try Savers or Maj-R thrift. They aren't quite as clean, but they are organized, friendly and I usually do not wait in long lines.

I've lived in Lawrence for years and have always enjoyed locating a treasure at Goodwill, until a few years ago. I find I difficult to believe that the citizens of the community have stopped donating any worthwhile home goods to this location but that appears to be the case. The paltry items there are grossly overpriced. How does one put a price of $3.99 on a dollar store candlestick glued to an old plate? I rarely go to this store anymore and typically leave empty handed when I do. It appears to me that the cherries are picked well before any customers arrive.

I used to love this Goodwill but the last few times I have been I have seen a negative change. They have dramatically raised their prices. I don't go to Goodwill for $40 used shoes, even if they are Michael Kors or Jordan! All their prices across the board seemed to have gone up. Today I tried to make a donation and they went through my stuff as I was unloading it and wouldn't take half of it. I've never had them sort through my donations like that before. The lady was really rude about it. I was donating a $160 baseball hitting net and she was reluctant to take it. She said "I guess we will see what we can get." She said one of my items was "really bad" and another children's item was a "death trap." I'm making a donation to you, not trunk to sell you something! Goodwill... you have forgotten who you are. I will take my donations to Salvation Army from now on.
