Hired this company to restore floors in an antebellum home, which we were assured was no problem. We gave him open access to the house with no timeline so that he could work around other projects. We paid half of the agreed price up front, which we agreed was fair. After the sanding stage was 2/3 complete, we get a message stating that he under-bid the job, that he had not included the hardwood staircase in the initial bid and that the old floors damaged his equipment. Knowing that projects often have cost overruns, we asked what it would cost to finish the job figuring a 10-15% hike would be agreeable. We had moved a few furniture pieces in after the initial bid, so we understood that having to move those around to access the floors would require some extra effort, making us not question his request. He returned with a figure nearly DOUBLE the initial bid. We were taken aback by this, especially since he had just a week prior asked for half of the remaining balance "or else I won't be able to pay my mortgage payment.". As unprofessional as injecting us into his personal financial problems was, we complied as it appeared he was progressing with our project and we didn't want to rock the boat. He stopped work, leaving the floors 2/3 sanded which wasn't even a good stopping point. We decided he was at the worst unprofessional and shady or at best incompetent and inefficient in his ability to estimate project costs and make an accurate bid. He told my wife "I won't leave you hanging..." but that apparently came with the caveat that you must pay me double and pay for my damaged equipment. By the way, his equipment was likely subpart, but even still a company's equipment wear-and-tear is not the fault of the house as he claimed nor is it the the responsibility of the customer to fix. A chef doesn't come out of the kitchen to tell the customer that he needs a new set of knives because preparing the food made his current ones dull. It's called the cost of doing business. As for his price hike being partially due to "not including the staircase": we went over the job with him beforehand, and he obviously understood that the stairs were part of the job because he went ahead and sanded them prior to bringing this up. IF he hadn't included the stairs in his bid, then why did he start refinishing them? We ate some of the cost and moved on to another company that isn't a one-man- show and has a professional reputation, and that doesn't have documented anger-management issues (should have done the Google search beforehand). We also should have documented the agreement, but that's on us. Anyway... I advise those looking for a deal to go with a larger, reputable company. It might cost more but they won't ask you to pay for their equipment or cry that they need cash to pay their bills.

If this company offered to work on my floors for free, I would not let them. As mentioned by other reviewers, the owner of this business has anger issues that he needs to deal with. While reading the reviews you will see pictures of one of his completed work. The customer is understandably upset with the poor quality of his work. You'll notice the owner did not even take the time to answer his complaint. As a member of the law enforcement family, I felt it was my duty to warn others about this business. His quotes are lower than others. Just remember you get what you pay for. You can not put a price on peace of mind. God bless and thank you to anyone who took the time to read this review.

have reached out to nick the owner several times with issues .... he responded finally 3 weeks later.. I hired them to refinish my hardwoods since we were doing a remodel and the color didn't match . We also hired him to lay new hardwood in our laundry room and stain them also . The finish, cuts and joints are very poor, some are off by as much as 3/4 of an inch. Also when his crew was moving the fridge they couldn't unhook the water lines, so they pulled it away from the wall to sand under (they didn't stain under). And when they stretched the waterline it ripped internally and is leaking all over the floor when you use the door water . I reached out that night Nick said they would address it . It was never addressed . The floors are very warped now and look terrible . I have to buy a new fridge also!! Next , the floor had quarter round, it was great and the joints were perfect from the builder ! Nick said included in the price was to redo the quarter round, caulk and refinish . The joints are so far off it is at best subpar . The paint was hit and miss as well as the caulking . Some of the joints are off 1/2 inch . When Nick finally reached out ........His response wasChris,The hardwoods already had water damage to the floor prior to refinishing your project. One reason why you had us out to estimate and refinish your floors to begin with was because of water damage to the floor. That just re-assures me that this was a prior issue you were having prior to the refinishing work being done and complete.I also didn't charge you to install or paint any quarter round and did that for free, so I'm not going to have the quarter round redone since I never charged you to begin with.Keep in mind , I never had water damage all floors were flat , never spoke of water damage . The color and laundry room addition of flooring was the issue . Also "the quarter round was free" was his stance .... it looks bad but it was free ???I will be reaching out to bbb, all review platforms , the court and the attorney general. Only because he has shifted the blame to me! I will be happy to remove and amend the review if Nick stands behind his work ...... I will attach a few pictures

Decent job was done with the floors. Did not strip and re-finish the areas that was said was going to be done. Missed a section of hardwood and when asked was told that he didn't move the stove. Floors look great just a few spots that look rushed.
