Gomer's Liquor

I was looking for a particular Vodka and couldn't find it. But the cashier was extremely helpful and directed me to the area of Kansas City manufactured liquor. They were very polite and friendly.

BEWARE!! There are many other liquor stores to visit in the area and I would highly recommend this. Encountered 3 different staff members and ALL were very rude. I can understand 1 employees rudeness but not 3 different employees! The manager LIED to me! I was treated very poorly, discriminated against even. Did I mention all 3 staff members were males. It was very clear to me they were on a "power trip" of some sort and I happen to get stuck in the middle of it. Lucky me! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

Over time this store has deterioratedIf you ask these guys questions they do not know their products or even their inventory. I asked about east European and they did not know where or what that was. They pointed out they had wine from France. The floors are filthy and product that is not moving is dusty as a tomb. The back room that perpetually advertises a wine sale with dusty stained signs is also filled with chaotically scattered cases of stored extra products blocking the aisles. Old tattered display cases used to seem quaint, even charmingAs the store has deteriorated they now seem just cheap and trashy. One of the most aggravating things is that literally half the items are unpriced. You are expected to bring each item to the front so they can price it and then they wait expectantly for you to automatically buy it. I have had to tell them 3x that no, I just wanted the price and it is too high. They have all kinds of products scattered around on the register counter that are unpriced. Even cases of brands that have just come in are unpriced. They have a rickety shelf filled with one off items or several of the same. All are unpriced . It looks like a sale self. No these are discontinued items, but no price break. To price them you have to bring them to the register. I am sometimes asked if I found what I wanted. I have many times complained about the lack of pricing and they have never seen it as being an issue. I tell them I am so tired of it that if there is no price I now stop to consider buying the item. They have no reaction. I remember a once dynamic, proud local chain called Ber biglia also go down hill like this, finally going out of business. This Gomers seems to be following such a parallel path. If there was another late night store in the area, I would go there

The night staff is virtually ignorant of what is in their on. ventory and how it is used in mixing and where various products are located in the store. They think French wine might be an Eastern European wine and have no idea what Midori is. One night a beer cooler was not working and all beer was warm. About forty per cent of inventory is unpriced . Clerks said owner is aware of this and has done nothing. One cooler is s poorly lit and cannot see some prices. Store is infrequently and poorly cleaned . On various occasions, especially around thanksgiving and Christmas the store closed at least thirty minutes early and there was no notice in the window . From behind closed door the clerks insisted they had to leave early The Gomers location on Broadway has a massive beer selection compared to this one. This place used to be fun and quirky. It has been going downhill for several years at least. Looks like owner just milking it into the ground.Price everything. Clean the store well. Get involved in running your business again

Always closes early. Like way early. Hours before it says they close online. Get yourself together Gomers the store is crap

This place used to be a pit but has been transformed into a really nice store with a great selection. Frank, Ralph, and the staff know the business and provide excellent advice and service. Conveniently located with easy parking. A great addition to the Gomer's lineup.

Tried to go in at 10:45, after seeing they were open until midnight on Friday. Lights off and doors closed. What?!

Good selection, better than other nearby stores (of which there are not many). Usually a quick in-and-out with no issues.

Great experience every time in here. Nice vast selection, and the staff are always ready to help.
