Gobblers Roost

Great little place with great food for a special occasion. Definitely a boutique restaurant. Service was first rate. However, kind of hard to get to for an everyday meal. Don't go if you don't like driving dirt roads. Beautiful "in the middle of nowhere" location though.

Came here for a valentines date. FYI this place is by reservation only and also incredibly off the beaten path but more than worth it.Date and I came here and they were apparently doing a Valentine's special which meant it was a 5 course meal for 55 dollars a person. It's insane value given it includes a 26 oz steak. The menu changes all the time in terms of the small appetizers you get so I'll skip those. The real draw of the place is the unbelievable mouthwatering melt-in-your-mouth tender massive steak. The owner was nice enough to come by and talk to us about how they buy the beef straight from the farmer and they honey glaze if for hours to get this marbling unlike any I have ever had before. I could barely finish half of my steak and my date couldn't even finish a third. You'll be sure to have left overs that are better than most steaks you make yourself at home for half a week. They also serve this amazing home baked loaf of bread to come with the meal which we also took with us at the end. Hospitality is great and the food is even better. If you have a special occasion and want to do something truly memorable to commemorate it, Gobbler's Roost is the way to go in SW MO.

And here with friends that had been here before. They did not exaggerate when they told us how delicious the steaks are!!! Very simple menu, which makes things very easy. From the appetizer to the dessert, I can't say enough. Absolutely the BEST filet I've ever had. Great service and very friendly people!

This place is the best. The seasoning the service the people and it's the biggest piece of meat you can imagine.

This was the first time eating at the Roost. It was a great experience. Outstanding steaks and customer service in a quaint atmosphere. If you want to have a superior dining experience in a new and a bit out of the way place Gobbler's Roost is a must try!

Have been a few times, the atmosphere is quaint, and set in the country. The meal is a 5 course and on the pricy side so not a regular Saturday night destination. The food on one visit was a little disappointing one time is.the reason for the 4 stars. One course was Walmart purchased spanakopita (frozen) served with teriyaki sauce. Fusing Greek and Japanese and I found the premade spanakopita with a bottled sauce a disappointment. Main courses are ample to bring home for another meal and has never been a disappointment. Worth a special occasion destination.

When you first make the drive it feels like you're going into the middle of nowhere but trust me it's worth it. The atmosphere is very quiet and down to earth. It is a very pretty place. The food is amazing. You will not leave hungry. The staff are very nice and helpful.

Location is perfect as it's nestled in the remote countryside. The food is bountiful, with local seasonal favorites. Their filet is always the best choice!

Went there for New Year's Eve a couple of years ago. Placed by the door with cold wind .we asked to move and they wouldn't accommodate. Tomahawk steak was awful. Had been there before and had great experiences so very disappointed. Called to complain and was told we should have asked to move and that the tomahawk steak was an experiment and not for everyone. We left hungry and disappointed.

Good food but over priced. Two people was over $160.00 with tax and tip. Water, tea, and a Diet Coke that never got refilled. No alcohol purchases.
