Giovanni's Italian Deli and Pasta

The absolute best sandwiches anywhere. Had there lunches also. Can't say enough good things about it. I live 60 miles away and make excuses to go to kc just to go to giovannis.

I'm all about helping out and supporting family businesses. When I'm on vacation, Yelp is always on when I'm searching for new places to eat and I try very hard to avoid the chains. Giovanni's was an absolute bullseye for purchasing some hoagies for the ballpark to see the Phillies/Royals game. My brother and brother-in-law and I got the Italian which was stacked with so much meat that we all only had to eat half of it at the game before being stuffed. The only negative I had was that the bun was like a soft hotdog bun and not a Amoroso roll which would have a better consistency for this amount of insides.With a bottle of water it came to $17 and change. The place has been around for decades, same family, and everyone was so friendly. They also have Italian specialties of pasta, lasagna, meatballs, and other goodies which if I were around longer I'd come back for. A couple of senior citizen patrons talked with us saying she's tried everything on the menu at least once except the shrimp (allergy) and loves everything. The owner(?)/cashier said he's a firefighter (or was and now retired) and I'm always happy to support our first responders.Make the trip to Giovanni's. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.When the owners realized we came for the food to bring to the game, they asked how we found out about Giovanni's. I had to say that Yelp was the main factor and your great reviews. Keep it up, Yelpers!

I was shocked and saddened to see that Giovanni's is no longer open on the weekends, which means that I won't be able to frequent them often since I work almost identical hours that they are now open. I took advantage of being on staycation and went today for what is one of my favorite sandwiches - Ross' Specialty. A large thick sandwich that costs $15 with tax and is worth every penny. With generous amounts ao salami, ham and pepperoni, Swiss and American cheese and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing on a traditional hoagie bun. I always ask for it to be grilled so the meat and cheeses is warm and the bun toasted. It is truly a behemoth and very messy to eat - you will need extra napkins and more than likely a to-go container for the left-overs for a second meal. Moderate eaters should consider splitting this with a companion. The vibe is authentic Italian deli and is family ran. The first two tables are generally full full of employees chatting between customers with regulars. It is a stereotypical scene from any Italian movie or sitcom. Good people serving a great authentic product.

Great service and we LOVE the Chicken Alfredo meal with garlic bread!!! They even have a drive thru!

Fast and tasty. Yummy Always friendly and helpful. Thank goodness it's so close. So much better than fast food places.

Giovanni's is a great locally owned deli and Italian restaurant. They serve fresh, homemade Italian sandwiches, pasta dishes, and sides. You can purchase meat by the pound from the deli as well to enjoy your sandwich combinations at home or on the go. They offer inside dining, a drive-thru, and carryout. We love their toasted ravioli, pasta with meatballs, and sandwiches. Delicious!!

Super tasty hidden gem in KC, will always stop by here when I'm in town. Great food and great prices as well!

Oh my gosh where do I begin. This food is amazing. Best sandwich you can get around here. They're authentic in their food and their personalities. They make you feel so welcomed. I mean hands down some of the best cold cut sandwiches; and hot sandwiches we've ever had. Whatever your location is, I beg you to take the journey here!

Food is very good and reasonably priced. I do wish they were open on the weekend. The only day I can get there is Friday.

A great mom and pop restaurant! My wife gets the Rueben sandwich with onion rings and I get the fried chicken salad with house dressing. The food is fresh, plentiful and delicious. I've always got great service, although we usually get our food to go. It's our go to place. Thanks Giovanni family!
