Geaux Catering

We hired Geaux Catering to provide professional chef services for our parents 50th wedding anniversary as we are out of state and covid had made thrown a monkey wrench in their plans and it was the best decision we made!Chef Jamaal consulted with us regarding our preferences for the menu and emailed us his suggestions. He was very accommodating to all our request and even had suggestions of his own. He came up with a menu of crab cakes appetizer, salad, and surf and turf Oscar (filet and prawns topped with jumbo lump crab meat and hollandaise sauce), bacon wrapped asparagus, and Prosecco. He arrived early to set up at my parents home and cooked and beautifully plated all the food. When he left, the kitchen was completely cleaned and left how he found it. My parents said everything was 5 star abs tasted amazing. Chef Jamaal even took Covid precautions and wore a mask. We couldn't have been more pleased and my parents say it's the best gift they've gotten. I would 100% recommend his company and services to anyone in the Kansas City area.

Geaux catering was available during the middle of the pandemic for 2 tastings! We had 1 testing where the bride and groom participated. During the initial tasting we decided on the seafood options. The groom and his siblings participated in the second testing and confirmed the chicken and steak options for the wedding. We tried several different caterers but Geaux catering was affordable, flexible, and full of flavor. The food was filling but not challenging to digest. We wanted to provide a flavorful light dinner and that's what we received. Thank you Geaux catering!

Geaux Catering catered my wedding reception and they were phenomenal! Jamaal and his team were absolutely amazing from day 1. We met them at a wedding show and scheduled a tasting. The tasting was at their home. It was so nice to see Jamaal in his own environment. Once we signed it felt good knowing we were helping support a family, not just some large catering company. They customized our menu to meet all of our requests. The day of the wedding the crew showed up on time, looking professional and ready to work. They greeted each guest with a smile! The food was amazing... and leftovers were just as good! I've never been so happy to have leftovers! Choosing Geaux Catering for our reception was by far one of the best decisions we made for the wedding.

Geaux catering recently catered a 160+ wedding reception for my wife and I. We loved the food and received so many compliments from our guests. Jamaal and his crew were professional and courteous. Placed an order for my friend's family whose dad had just passed. They are raving about the Blackened Caribbean Chicken and Mac n Cheese. Thank you for providing an incredible meal and making them smile!

Absolutely awful business practices. We booked them weeks ago for my engagement party providing them the date and time of the event. They agreed to being able to provide us catering. We looked up their menu with pricing and let them know which items we needed. Fast forward to 3 days before the engagement party, we are finally provided a quote that is more than double what was advertised on their website. For 2 items (2 pans of chicken wings) (3 pans of jambalaya) we were quoted almost $1000! Their Google location shows they're located in Lenexa as is our event yet we were being quoted an almost $200 delivery fee for less than 10 mins of driving! And to make matters worse, we were told they could only provide the food Friday evening when the party isn't until SATURDAY evening. So we're paying almost $200 to get our food delivered on the wrong day and expected to keep a $1000 order fresh for an entire day?! When asked about the price discrepancies, we were notified that they still needed to update their website prices. Why were we not notified of the price changes weeks ago when the items were initially chosen and agreed upon? Why was a quote not provided then? Communication with the owner has been spotty and difficult and he does not honor the prices he has listed on his website. If you have the patience to deal with spotty communication, having to find a way to keep your food edible a day before the event and 100% price increases with 3 days notification then so be it. But now we have to scramble to find food for our engagement party a couple days before the event because he stopped replying to our quote clarification questions. Jamaal and his crew at Geaux Catering are amazing. They catered our office party this holiday season and did a fabulous job! They were delightful! They were easy to work with, provided a verity of food for our diverse crowd, and delivered a great product. They were very accommodating with our short timeline. They showed up early to set up, served our employees, and then cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them to anyone needing a catering service.

Jamaal and his family were great to work with and their food was great for our wedding reception. They are organized, they keep people moving through the buffet line efficiently, the food is delicious, and we are very thankful for all they did to make our night so great!
