The food here for a sports bar is good. Clean ingredients, well plated, larger portions. Cocktails are also good. This isn't your standard gay bar where they serve mixed drinks only and nearly give you alcohol poisoning with super strong well pours.. they have craft cocktails, nachos with tons of toppings, and good service! Food is a bit pricier in comparison to other sports bars, but like I said, they use proper ingredients. The nachos are so tasty, with quite a bit of chicken. Friday nights are drag nights. You can catch a really fun show at 7 and again at 9, with full service dinner. Hands down one of the best drag shows I've ever seen in the KC area. The talent is high, and you're guaranteed to have a good time. They have an ATM for cash tips.

Gaels is so freaking charming. I live for a dimly lit Irish joint and it's made all the more incredible that it's a gay pride extravaganza every day and night! We went for a bingo fundraiser and it was so fun. The hosts were fab and the music was great. The staff was kind and quick, especially for such a big group of people. We got the poutine and the chips and both were great! The TV was playing through a ton of different offerings that all looked so mouthwatering so, needless to say, I'll be returning and hopefully frequenting!

Three Words: Boozy. Dole. Whip. Now that I have your attention, let's talk about Gaels, KC's Party HQ! Located between the Plaza and Brookside, Gaels Public House and Sports sits inside a century-old building that started out as a tavern, and has been transformed it into a stunning gathering spot for all kinds. Under one fabulous roof, you'll find everything from 26 TVs for sports lovers, a deliciously eclectic menu (ALWAYS get the Pub Fries), three full-service bars, trivia, happy hour specials, and a Drag Brunch on Sundays. And one thing I especially love about Gaels is that it's the first Kansas City restaurant to be designated a "Safe Place" for youth in crisis to come for help. Our entire family loved everything about our visit, and we know you will too, because they promise you'll have a Gael time!

Gael's is a nice little spot to have a drink and eat. The food is good, and the bartender makes good drinks. I ordered the supreme pizza. It was the size of a small pizza at most chains. I was full after eating a few slices. On Tuesday nights, they play contactless Bingo at 7 pm. It was fun. If I had known my artist and the name of their songs, it would have been more fun. :-) Sasha is entertaining and makes playing Bingo fun.

Everyone has been raving about this place and now I see why! Such a cool little spot, with such a fun and opening vibe. When they say inclusive they mean it! The staff was so wonderful and friendly and very quick service as well! The food was also some of the best "bar food" I've had in the area. We started with a plate of Thai chili wings and they did not disappoint. For those ranch lovers, it was the good ranch too! Then we ordered the waygu burger which was so juicy and flavorful. It had some type of pimento cheese spread too which put it over the top in a good way. The pastrami hash was also pleasantly good and very different! Not something you see on any menu! We loved this place. Can't wait to go back with our friends for the drag shows

Eeeeeek fun to be had by all! I'm such a dork, but I found my people on bingo night with Sasha! Dakota took such good care of us. Food was soooo tasty, drinks were strong, assignment understood. It seems to be divided into 3 sections, the rowdy bar side. On the opposite a spacious room with seating for those wanting a quieter conversation and finally the patio. A lil something for everyone. Private parking lot and I a part of KC I was not expecting but totally loving. Happy hour is one of the best. 100% want to be a regular.

I will be coming back! So clean and cute. Staff are super friendly. Service was quick. But most importantly the food was so good! We got the chicken nachos which were so good and fresh. The chicken was phenomenal and the cheese was very creamy. We also got the chicken tendies app which was so good and delicious m. It should probably be renamed to "a lotta fries and some tendies app" because there were so many fries! Delicious steak fries, perfectly crispy and delicious. I didn't get the chicken tenders meal but I would guess if you want more chicken, you should order the chicken tenders entree. Regardless, the chicken tendies were delicious. The coating was the best part--so crispy. But the chicken meat was still so juicy. Absolutely would recommend this place to a friend!

Comfortable and welcoming vibe. Fairly extensive full bar. Plenty of seating on the bar side in addition to an adjoining dining room. Hubby had the shepherds pie and even though it was a mushroom based gravy (hates mushrooms) he thought it was very good!!I tried the pastrami burnt ends sandwich and while it was good, I would probably order something different next time. It has a strong horseradish flavor in my opinion and that's not something I enjoy. The entire table thought the guacamole was excellent! We ordered it at happy hour and it was plenty for 4 of us to share. We also ordered the beer bites from the happy hour menu - Hubby and the rest of the table thought they were good!I think this is a new favorite bar for us and we will be back.

I am ga-ga about Gaels! This is such a standout sports bar that is also a gay bar. Yes! You heard that, right! That is one of the reasons Gaels stands out because it's a mash-up of two things you don't usually find together, and it excels at both. It is an inviting, welcoming, safe space where you can, depending on the day/time of day, either watch a drag show or catch a game. Also, the food is standout. You will not leave hungry, with a great selection of both bar food standbys as well as some dishes with slight Mexican influence such as tacos and nachos; Gaels truly can do it all. I would highly recommend the chicken tinga tacos or nachos. These are great finger food options, and the chicken meat is super tender and spiced to perfection. Also, the burgers, especially the wagu and the lamb one, are filling meals at a reasonable price. I haven't explored the menu too much, but everything I have tried has been excellent, and that includes the drinks. The mimosa selection offered makes the already memorable drag brunches even better. They have a plethora of juices to choose from! The variety makes it fun. If you stop in during happy hour, then don't count out a cheap margarita to help wash down your nachos or tacos. It's a little fizzy but strong... and is served in a pint glass - a unique choice but, overall, can't complain for the cost! I take a lot of my friends to Gaels, who have never experienced a place quite like it, and I really think I have converted some...some though will never get it and that's okay. Gaels is a place to love and cherish, and they will love and cherish you back, in their own special way. Don't come in with expectations and instead come in with an open mind, stomach (and heart) and I'm pretty sure Gaels will treat you right. The food really is leagues better than traditional bar food, so don't let the party atmosphere fool you stop in for a delicious drink but stay for a bodacious burger or tantalizing tacos!
