Funky Town

We had such a fun night here last night ! The dj slayed .... Dance floor was hopping all night. Drinks were good.... Late night pizza was also pretty good. It's a cash only bar so come prepared.

70s disco themed dance bar. This is a fun place if you like to dance. They play 70s/80s music. The place is decorated in 70s era. Cover charge of $15 to get in. Cocktail about $10 a cup. There's also a charge for water. People come here to dance and celebrate with friends. Disco ball hanging in ceiling. Neon lights. Dancing cage and platform. No drinks on the floor.

We took an Uber from our hotel on the Plaza, KC, MO to celebrate a birthday with 4 ladies. We didn't realize how much everyone dressed up for the themed bar. Next time we will be prepared! We really enjoyed all the dance music & décor showing 70-80's styles! The dance floor always had people showing off their moves, some line dancing & other's getting groovy! This is a cash only bar with $10 cover charge. They do have an ATM inside.There's plenty of seats, but most people were up dancing the entire time!I wish they had something like this in Omaha, NE!!!

I was invited by a friend to celebrate her husbands birthday. I'm so glad I accepted. This was my second rime At FunkyTown. There's no way you can't have fun.The drinks are pretty expensive to be weak. They run $10 for a oxtail which they pour in a tall glass full of ice and soda with a splash of libations.They do accept reservations. If you're not there by 9pm, Maniak will give away the table(s). I don't blame her. She was the only floor waitress and she held it down for it to be so crowded. As of 7.31.21, social distancing was not being enforced. Cover charge is $10. It's easy to spend $30 - $50 if you don't have a limit. They have food on the menu as well.Have fun!

This place has such potential. The vibe is great and the crowd is very into the 70s theme with many dressing to match the theme. The decor is good but the DJ has no clue. I grew up going to clubs in the 70s and 80s and while some of the song selections are good, they played a couple of 80s songs, some 50s music, Stevie Ray Vaughn and stairway to heaven. People come here to dance to 70s music and you could see the floor empty when the selection went sideways Replace the DJ and you would have a real winner.

I had never been here before, and didn't look at any Yelp reviews before coming. There was a group of people getting together for an event. I decided to check it out. There is a $15 cover, which seems about par for the course at any sort of late night clubs now days. When I got in the door, I thought that maybe they were having some sort of 70s Disco Theme night, little did I know that this is the theme every night they are open. I had always just thought this was a normal dance club, or had been told a country music club, so it was a bit of a surprise. All in all I had quite a bit of fun. The crowd was lively and really into the Disco scene. The Bartenders and Staff did a great job taking care of everyone and the over all vibe was just sort of refreshing. I would def come back again with the right people. I would assume that its just that much more fun if you dress up.

I LOVE Funky Town! It's hard to describe but it's an awesome, unique throwback bar. People of all ages are there. No two times there are the same. We love dressing up and seeing everyone's throwback gear- most is 70s. The decor is awesome. Most nights at midnight they play "Car wash"... it's worth staying for!! Grab some friends and go! Plenty of parking. Restrooms are clean but get worse throughout the night. There's a lot of seating inside. A small platform that anyone can dance on, as well as, a small dancing cage that can fit about five people.

I had a great time and the vibes were great, I just wish the song transitions were a lot smoother, the contrast in tempos were all over the place and made it hard to flow with the dancing. Overall, it's still a fun place to be, i just think the DJ could put more thought into how the songs lead into each other

If you were banking on them staying open until 1:30 as advertised, they will not. Tonight the last song was played at 12:53.

Had a great time last night. It was packed, everything is CASH! $15 cover charge and $1 to store your coat. Pretty cool place but I don't think the ceiling area has been cleaned since it opened. Not enough air moving to keep cool as the place was PACKED. They never cleaned up all the cups and bottles that I seen, so by the end of the night it looks pretty bad. Everyone has a lot of fun, as did I. They definitely need to update their sound system, CD system skipped all night long. Need to go digital and not too sure about the DJ? Overall a fun experience and I will go back again some time. People had fun dressing up! Beers are around 6 bucks and drinks somewhere around 9! 11:30 They play the song Car Wash and one of those Car wash rollers comes down from the ceiling and bubbles are everywhere....Didn't see that coming. Pretty cool!
