Fuego's BBQ Mexican Cocina

I agree with another reviewer that the location is in a pretty rundown strip mall, and it seems a bit sketchy at first - but what lured me in was that I could smell the wood smoke from blocks away - and indeed, there's a wood pile outside where they chop the wood for the smoker. It's clean on the inside, and the murals are super cute. Pics on the menu board are an accurate reflection of what you're going to get. My daughter had smoked bbq wings which had a great smoked (but not overpowering) taste. I had the carne asada tacos, and I thought they were great. Would definitely try this place again.

Our first time dining here. The food was very tasty. The service was excellent and overall the place was really nice. It was clean and staff was friendly. We will be back!

Came here for a quick bite before a Kansas City game. A family run restaurant with fresh ingredients and friendly service. They have a variety of food options including sandwiches, bbq and tacos. We tried their pork tacos and the pork was full of flavour and spiced deliciously. You can also tell all the ingredients are fresh. A great place to try if you're in the area or heading to the stadium as it's not too far from it.

This restaurant is a small local business in Kansas city Missouri. I highly recommend stopping in here and supporting this business. The food is Delicious

Wow. Delicious! It's kind of a weird location in a vaguely run down strip mall next to a gas station, but it's bright and clean inside and the people are super friendly. And the food, oh my!

I was looking for a new joint so I could continue my wife and I's 4th weekend in a row of sampling the local culinary focal point - BBQ! The past 3 weekends we have had BBQ from places that were new to her but not me. This time I wanted something unique and fresh for both of us, so after searching through Yelp, I found Fuego's BBQ Mexican Cocina about 50 places deep into the search. Fuego's has been open about 6 months and they were completely off my radar. With only 1 review - 5 stars and a good looking menu with appetizing photos, I knew I was driving across town to bring some home for my version of a Sunday worship service.I spoke with the owner Sergio about what I was wanting / needing and he directed me to the #2 for $25.50; 4 bones, 1/4 chicken, plenty of smoked sausage, rice, charros, pickled veggies, salsa, BBQ sauce and tortillas. I added another 1/4 chicken for $5, 8oz of BBQ beans - $4, and a huge order of fries for $4. An absolute feast! All 3 meats were smoked well and very tender with a nice complex sauced exterior. The in house baked beans and charros were both flavorful and first rate, rice and fries were standard. Sergio also told me that he had been working the kitchen and smoker at Smokehouse BBQ for the past 20 years, so the man definitely has a history of credibility and is now delivering his own first class Mexican / Kansas City BBQ experience on 40 hiway near the Truman Sports Complex. I'm eager to eat the leftovers later tonight and return in the future. They deserve much success.

Tried this today. Got the ribs . Good taste.. fell off the bone. Tried a carne asada taco.. loved the side of salsa they gave with the taco. Everything was fresh. I'd try it again

Omg!! Unassuming little place. Wasn't sure when trying. But his chicken and ribs are off the chain!!! Sooo good. Yes yes. Come try it. Food is great

Very good!!! I like the bbq, so flavorful, tender & juicy. My favorite is the Pastor tacos. Can't get enough!! We eat here and then go to the bakery next door.

Food was superb; great service; friendly staff; family friendly vibe. Can't imagine how it could have been better. Highly recommend!
