This is the worst place of employment I've ever encountered. The 'supervisor' MsWashington is a micro manger maniac. I've witnessed her talking about clients, degrade staff and workers, and speak to people like she's in the street. Ive witnessed her slam the door in an advocates face. She worked at a bank and has zero experience supervising and it shows! This place is suppose to help women who have experienced domestic violence and the advocates experience trauma just working here. The job itself is not hard work, but working under these incompetent women is not worth it. I have a whole degree-working on my masters currently, and would rather work at Walmart than with this organization. That's how horrible it it. Not to mention the building has mold and holes in the ceiling. The shelter director Johnson has no clue as to what goes on in shelter, but try's to step in as a disciplinary. No compassion across the board, no empathy, and these people are not client driven. No one in management has an actual degree in related field which tells you a lot already. I hated having to walk on egg shells, and not feel like a professional. They would change advocates schedules without consultingWith us first. People have families and the job is not our life. I loveee helping women transition out of DV but this place stressses me out so bad I had to leave. In fact there were 3 advocates who left within a MONTH! That's sad. There's no amount of money worth the suffering from that place. Your better off going to Rose brooks, hopehouse, safe home, or even hope haven. If you want to be respected as a professional trust me this is NOT where you want to waste your time. Lastly, when covid was at a peak they handled it all wrong. Someone in the building had gotten Covid and we were told "if you feel like you want to get tested you should go" just so they wouldn't have to send people home. Then was forced to send everyone in the building home for 14days because someone else contracted covid. How irresponsible!
