The book club I'm in met up here on a Sunday. The place was pretty dead, but I can see where it would be a fun spot on a Friday or Saturday. I really enjoyed the wines I had, mainly from the sweet and semi-sweet list! A couple people ordered the charcuterie plates, and they looked delicious. The atmosphere was really cool. I liked the nook with the TV and books, and the trees coming from the table was cool. Everything was super clean, including the bathrooms. The staff was amazing and a huge help with ordering. I'll definitely keep this on the list of places to return to!

We came in about 1:15 on a Thursday afternoon. It was quiet. There is lots of space for seating: lots of tables in an open area, a few couches in one area with a tv, a cute table with lots of seating, and a little outdoor seating. We did a red flight that was $9. Enjoyed each glass. To my surprise I liked the dessert wine. Enjoyed the knowledge and service.

We were doing a winery tour yesterday around the Kansas City area. We've never heard of this wine before even though we were at the KC Uncorked (wine event at the Union Station). It's located in the West Bottoms which to me, is an artsy area of KC. The place is very spacious. When you walk in, it's a big open space with chairs and tables. Walk up to the bar area, and you'll find the menu of drinks, etc. We went for the wine tasting which is $8 for 5 wines of your choice. What I like about the wine is the story behind each wine, and how they were named by different fountains located all around Missouri. The bartender was knowledgeable. Now for the wines itself... the wines are not to my liking. The wines are overly sweet to me. I like dry red wines. That's just my preference, but go and try for yourself. And the pour could have been a bit more. It seems like a cool place to hang out though. The bartender told us that on Fridays they have live bands. Just check out their website for events.

I was able to make a super impromptu trip to Fountain City Winery before meeting up with a fried in a nearby West Bottoms spot. They were close to closing but the owner still accommodated a tasting for me. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine and you could tell he was super passionate about what he was doing. As it turns out, his wife does the art for the bottles! They were super fun and impressive. True to their brand, each bottle is based on a different fountain in Kansas City. The wine itself is good but the artwork on the bottles is even better if you ask me! I am such a loyal KC girl and kinda obsessed with all of that culture, so it sucked me in! The location is so prime down in the West Bottoms and the space itself is amazing and historic. I loved being in that space with it's high ceilings and wood floors. I think doing the flight is the way to go so that you can determine what you like. They had some unique varieties so I certainly needed some guidance! I brought home a bottle of Old Lions and I'm saving it for a special occasion! Add this to your next wine-crawl!

Stopped by fountain city during a tour of the west bottoms. I was excited for a new winery! Unfortunately, the wines were not my taste. I prefer dry wines, and many of the wines they have are VERY sweet. We started with a flight, which is 7 tastes for $7. The service was good and kind, and they had a food truck selling pizza outside the day we were there. If you like sweet or dessert wines, this might be the spot for you.

Enjoyed the variety of wines as well as their cocktails collaborating with spirits from local distilleries!I tried "Prideful" featuring Old Lions and espresso liquor, which was quite tasty! The building has a good space (even an area to lounge or play games) and the live music on Friday was great! Knowledgeable and friendly staff- they make their own wine on site :)

I love KC and I love wine. Unfortunately Kansas/Missouri wine isn't great. 4 stars for location and vibe.

Great new spot on West Bottoms! The space is excellent and very large, which made it easy for us to find a spot for a fairly large group on a Saturday afternoon. The tasting - which offers 7 wines for just $7 - is a really good deal. My wife and I thought the wines were quite good, particularly for the price point. In particular, we enjoyed the Trumpeter Chardonnay. The Perennial - which reminded me of a poor man's ice wine - was also quite tasty and reasonably priced.

The food must have been good, because I went the last hour they were open Sunday and they were out of flatbread dough. The staff was polite and the wines were interesting. I was from out of town, so the person pouring also talked about the wine names in relation to some Kansas City fun facts!
