Service was friendly and the owner was kind and patient He was very knowledgeable about his equipment and offered great advice for me and my daughter first time experience! Selection of fishing poles and bait was plenty and cheap enjoyed the experience!

40 woods has everything you need! Sorry to say they are not selling fishing license right now. Make sure you have that but they have everything else ! Great folks! I come here every time to get my supplies for fishing when I come to the lake. Also have a mask to wear in store these guys are trying to prevent spreading the virus while still helping its customers. I appreciate that! Its a bait store nothing fancy. They have everything you need. Drinks, bait, snacks, even cigarettes. One thing i love is you can get minnows even if you forget your minnow bucket with out buying a new bucket. They charge you a few more dollars and you can get minnows in a bag. They fill it with oxygen and they last forever. I buy my minnows the night before so i can hit the lake at 6 am. All my minnows in the bag are still alive 12 hours after i bought them. I have taken 2 bags to Bull Shoals lake 5 hours away. I never needed the 2nd bag with 4 dozen in it and not 1 minnow was dead and it was 4 days after i bought it.

I just discovered 40 Woods and I loved this place within 60 seconds of stepping in the door. Old school. Salt of the earth staff. I ordered a shotgun from Davidson's online and had it shipped here. Price was great, people were super friendly when I picked up the gun. It's nice to find a unique place like this in this day and age where everything is a chain box store. The service could not have been better. I'm amazed I'm the first one reviewing them on Yelp...but all their other customers are probably out fishing or hunting rather than sitting in front of a computer screen.

Great place to go for all fishing needsWhenever I'm in lees summit fishing jacomo or Lakewood I'm always getting bait here. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Some day I'd like to add a pic of a catfish to post on their "monsters" wall.
