Let's start off with, I am not a big Indian food eater. Nothing against the food, I just have never found anything I like. Upon entering, my husband and I were greeted and chose my place to sit. We were the only person in the restaurant with it being 30 minutes after it had opened. The place inside is very clean, had music going, and was very bright. The server brought water to the table and asked if I had any questions. She was very polite. For my appetizer I ordered the Aloo Tikkiyas, a spicy potato cake. They came out hot and crispy and were a good appetizer. The sauces were just as good to dip them in. We then put in our order for lunch. I got the achari chicken dish. The food came out steaming hot with a side of rice. My husband got the lamb curry. I stole a bite, also very flavorful. We got some of the cheese naan and was served the complimentary garlic naan as well. Everything was so good! And the service was amazing!!It made my husband cry because of a place like this being so close and so good. We will definitely be returning to Flavor of Himalaya. It is also nice to know they go through DoorDash too.

In town visiting my son. He had been wanting to try this new restaurant in Raytown. It was phenomenal. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted. The menu had a lot of Indian Cuisine dishes to choose from. I had the Shrimp Tikka Marsala and my son had the Lamb Malabari. Also, an order of Garlic Naan to split. They bring out a bowl of Basmati Rice to serve your dish over. You can order any dish mild, medium or hot spice level. The food was very flavorful and hearty. Our waitress was so attentive filling our water and bringing out more rice. At the end of our meal, she brought out hot rice pudding.

Was quite excited about this place, as we have a similarly focused place in Seattle. The menu is quite extensive.Decided on a vegetarian thali, which was described on the menu as two half orders of entrees served with rice or naan. The papadam was a nice touch, but if you've ever had thali, this plate felt quite bare. I'm sure it's a business decision, and I had read it on the menu of what I would receive. So, no complaints, just a notable observation. I had the pakora curry and malai veg kofta. Both were tasty. My dining companion had goat saag, which was slightly overly salty. Not enough to send back, though. The goat curry was apparently good. Lastly, the aloo paratha tasted like the seasoned potatoes had a bit too much sour component (yogurt?). Just tasted a bit off. All of us agreed that the service was great and that the place was set up more for pickup rather than dining. Perhaps the flavors are truly authentic, and we're just not used to it? May report back after visiting Jammu and Kashmir.

Ate lunch at FoH on Tuesday, October 8th. I started with an order of mango lassi while I perused the extensive menu. Its eight pages of various different dishes! This was the best mango lassi that I have ever had!!! A perfect amount of mango and creaminess. I highly recommend it for a starter. I selected Chicken Biryani as my main dish and placed my order with the waitress. She was prompt and said that I had made an excellent choice. She brought it to the table 10m later and it too was delicious. I really enjoyed the sauce that was provided with the dish. I will definitely return to this gem!

So excited that this new ethnic restaurant opened in Raytown. I visited when they first opened a few weeks ago and while the food was delicious, and the staff people were friendly, there were some kinks to still work out. So I will definitely be back to give them another try. You can dine in or take out. Lots of vegetarian options almost a full page on the menu. I had the mixed veg curry, medium spice. It had a nice amount of heat, lots of chickpeas and other veggies in a tomatoe based sauce. I also had samosa chaat - street food. It was kinda sweet. It was just ok. The menu is pretty extensive. Fried whole fish - snapper, tilapia, birayni, tandoori, fried rice, and every protein you can think of- chicken, lamb, goat , fish, shrimp. Tip: they have several flavors of naan. On my visit I tried the garlic. It was so good. I will definitely try the others.

The chickpeas in the chaat were harder than I liked or would have anticipated. Maybe it was a one-off, and since it was a to-go order I didn't complain, but it will take some convincing to come back.

Food was great and the service wonderful. I love restaurants that ask you how spicy you want it so you can customize any of the dishes to your liking. my grandson was with us and he wasn't going to order anything as a picky eater the server brought out a plate of french fries and chicken nuggets to him without him, even asking at no chargeShe also gave us some wonderful rice pudding for dessert at no charge I had the chicken 65 and my daughter had noodles. I'm ready to come back and try more items for sure.
