The owner of First City Photo was the photographer for many of my High school events. She was very unprofessional and made me personally uncomfortable. I began staying away from using her business and missed out on many important social events at school because of it.She does very classic photography. Some people love that kind of thing. I personally do not and wish her business would include a wider diversity of styles. Her prices are higher than I feel that is worth it. I do not use her business anymore due to this.Overall, a decent photographer with an eye for the classic.

So CGSC-ILE (Fort Leavenworth) contracts here for our 'yearbook' photos so lots of folks rotate through here. Deb, the owner, is a kind, smiling, and talented photographer who uses jokes and great expressions to lighten the mood and get great pics.My wife and I saw the trip as a chore at first, but after she put us in several poses and setups, we're actually really excited to see the pics. Also, the store is filled with some amazing photos from history, as well as some recent work. Definately worth just stopping by to browse

First City Photo and Frames goes beyond photography. We've used her for family events and framing for years. She also acts as a de facto historian. The pictures on the walls and in her archive are very interesting.

My only review of this is that they should post the hours on their door. I wanted to patronize this business, but when I went it was dark and closed at 3:30 on a weekday. There was no sign indicating when they are open or if it's appointment only and how to contact them.

First City photo is first rate! Debra is a professional photographer who really knows how to capture a moment! She has been taking pictures of my girls for years and just finished up a senior photo shoot of my oldest daughter and I couldn't be more pleased! She has a way of making you feel at ease and the whole experience is a lot of fun. We now live in Louisville Kentucky and we think she is so great that we still make the trip to see her to capture the important moments in our lives!

The photos are beautiful, the attitude of the photographer is not. The Command and General Staff School has a standing agreement with this studio to provide fee free sittings and photos for the yearbook as long as the family is present and the studion gets the opportunity to sell additional photos. We had a 5:30 PM appointment for our family photo. We got there 2 minutes late and the doors were locked. My 7 months pregnant wife went up there the next day to see what happened and was told by the owner that she does not wait one minute over for paying customers, much less non-paying customers. The photographer further stated that she is not losing any money by not keeping appointments. In her defense, some of the officers that scheduled appointments did not keep them, but the fact that the last 14 appointments at 5:30PM did not show up is no basis to judge the next customer or potential customer. She has bent over backwards on several occasions to work in people or crop in families that are not here so they can be included in the yearbook.Based on my dealings with First City Photo and conversations with my peers, I recommended to the School to find another photographer. Beautiful work does not excuse being an horrible human being. I recommend only supporting this business if you have a very thick skin and can tolerate extremely rude behavior or there is not other place to go. Those of us at CGSS are under orders to get the photo done hopefully for the last time at this studio.

We used this photographer for a work photo and were not treated politely.
