Great place to relax and enjoy a day of live music, wine and snacks. It would be great if more food options for lunch or dinner were available, but the cheese and ritz crackers were ok for our visit. It was nice being able to take my pup as well. They offer tours and tastings. We did the red wine tasting at this visit. Will be back!

Short answer for busy scrollers: This place is great and you should go here. And for everyone else, here's why:Fence Stile is a labor of love. From grape to glass, every step is done with thought and heart, because they love doing this and want to make it easy for you to love it, too. That's amazing, rare, and refreshing. My friends have heard me say this a lot, so I may as well share it with all of you - I like to spend my time with people who are curious and kind. Those are the people I want as friends. And when you start with those two qualities, other virtues are a bonus on top of that.Shriti and the family of friends she has built embody this. Her curiosity and willingness to innovate make this the most exciting and compelling winery I have encountered in Missouri (and many other states). The only limitations are what the soil can grow in this part of the world, and even then she is making remarkable breakthroughs with local grapes. For example, Shriti was the first Missouri winemaker to produce an orange wine, and it's great. Her piquette is fascinating and fun, I'd never seen one anywhere else. Fence Stile produces wines for any palate, including those of us who prefer drier wines. Which is all too rare in Missouri. They also have started innovating in the rum and brandy space, it's a new program for them and I'm very excited to see where they go with it. And by see I mean taste. Finally, a word on value. How many times have you been to a small Midwestern or southern winery, find one wine that you can sort of work with, only to discover it's $35 or more per bottle?I'm extremely sympathetic to the pressures on small producers, but there are many places it doesn't feel justified. And compared to what you can get from basically anywhere else in the world at that cost, that's a hard price point to feel good about. $35 can get you a world class Spanish Tempranillo... or variations on "Sad Norton."Fence Stile gets this. They have more accessible prices than many other places, which is funny because the wine here is way better. They've struck a nice balance of value and sustainability. I love Missouri. I want it to shine. This place and this team are innovating their way to breakthroughs that do just that. Now I just need to figure out how to concisely explain what a Fence Stile is to my friends.

What an absolutely gorgeous property! We recently hosted a 50-person work dinner and wine event at Fence Stile. We coordinated the event from afar, as most of our team was not local. The photos online and the description provided by the Owners aligned with our needs - but as one of my coworkers exclaimed, in the most complimentary of ways, "Wow - this place is a WHOLE VIBE!" The pics online do not do the property justice! Fence Stile was the perfect venue for our event. Lots of gorgeous, well defined seating areas outside and inside that provided lovely, expansive views. We were lucky to have perfect weather for a September evening event (sunny and low-80's), and the view of the sunset from the patio was a dream. The owners were very easy to work with, responsive to all of our questions and needs, and eager to help with anything we requested including providing several options for local caterers to fit our budget. If you are looking for a venue to host your next function, I wholeheartedly recommend Fence Stile! You will be well taken care of, and your guests will feel like VIPs for the day. As for the wine, the selection includes unique varietals such as a white cabernet and vignoles. The wines we were served generally leaned a little sweeter or more off-dry (like many Missouri wines), with a slightly higher than average alcohol content. While we did not select them to be part of our offerings, they do make sangria and a "slushy" style wine that would probably both have been excellent additions to our menu in the late summer heat.

Came to attend this me of the candlelight wine tasting. Really great concept. You get a tour of the facility, which is all indoors. Definitely a fan of these wines as they are all lighter than your typical winery. Great flavors and styles.

We booked the wine cave and tasting tour during the week and it was a great time. Group of 4 guests only, got to taste lots of great wines and heard about the history of the winery. If you are staying in the area, definitely check this place out for a tasting or tour. The Elms offers shuttles there.

A wonderful spot not too far from where we were staying. We did a wine tasting (not the tour) - 5 tastes for $5. The facility was beautiful and clean. The property is absolutely beautiful. The wine was wonderful.! We ended up taking a bottle of the Backpack Red home with us. We would like to come back when the weather is cooler so we can enjoy the outdoor space.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. We had a personalized tour and wine tasting with the owner/operator. She asked a lot of questions about what we liked/didn't like in a wine, and made sure that we tasted wines that would suit our pallet but also challenge us, especially my husband who has never really found a wine he liked. By the end we found two we could enjoy together. We also tried their rum and took some home with us. Our experience was very relaxed and conversational. We learned a lot about wine making and about our own taste in wine. We would definitely recommend taking the time to experience this very welcoming winery! We will definitely take the time to go back.

My fiancé and I did the wine tasting tour, and it was truly an experience. I learned so much, met new friends (including the owner/operator), and sampled amazing wines. I tried wines that I wouldn't have thought I'd like, and was taught how to explain what I do tend to like and why I like it! we purchased five bottles - we had so much fun and will definitely go back.

We have visited many wineries over the years. Shiriti is the most wonderful vintner we have ever met. She is warm and friendly and knows her stuff about wine. Thank you Shiriti for the excellent wine and a fun tasting.

We had a great date night doing a wine tasting and tour of the winery. The owner is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from her. The grounds and wine tasting room are beautiful. We definitely recommend stopping by for a tasting or to enjoy a glass of wine or two.
